Salon Palava (Hair journey 2)

In my first post about my hair journey I mentioned how my dad made me believe I had special powers but because of how the hair kept distressing me I ended up cutting it, now that we’ve recapped let’s move on.I finished secondary school in record time and started beeping my hair again, this time I was determined to make sure it didn’t flop.

I love how I’d open up my socials and start seeing hair goals and girls taking care of their hair and I wanted to be in that league, why not. Unfortunately for me I didn’t know a single thing about maintaining my hair, it was thick and my scalp is big so anytime I walk into a saloon these are the responses I get, after touching my hair they’ll say, “fine girl this your hair to strong oo e go break my nails”, “as this your hair dey like this I no go fit charge you like normal customer oo”, “the reason the washing no enter inside your hair na because your hair too full, like say your hair no full like this e for no chop my soap finish”.

Honestly hearing those snarky remarks about my hair made me feel uneasy about having my hair done in the saloon, so since I was in the university a girl around my room made hair so I started patronizing her. My brothers and sisters, that's how I got lice. My mum then told me don’t even think of coming home without cutting off your hair, I had to relax my hair thrice before the lice finally left and my hair became heavily damaged, I then cut it.

After some time I started growing my hair again and I love it and I don’t think I can trust any kind of person with my hair like I did before. I started making my hair by myself, I wanted to post the video but unfortunately it’s not coming through so you’ll have to manage the end results of my hair do.
