Popular Nigeria myth: whispering at night and itching on the right palm.

Most Nigeria families and communities beliefs on this popular Nigeria myth or traditional belief before the existence of science and technology came invoked. This Nigeria myth has been there with our ancestors and still passing from one generation to another till date. Among this popular Nigeria myths is whispering at night it is believed that it attracts bad spirits and witches, another is itching on the right palm it is a sigh that someone is about to receive money or blessing.

In Nigeria families there's this belief that people shouldn't whisper at night. Back then at home when we are still kids, my parents would warn I and my siblings not to whisper at night, that evil spirit listens to the conversation and then hurt the person whispering. That it is as well related to witchcraft or evil plans, so because of it children are warned by elders to always take openly rather than to whisper at night. But it just an honoured cultural tradition belief that still exists in some homes.

Another well known Nigeria myth is itching on the palm. It is believed that when our right palm starts itching us, that we are about to receive money, salary, gift, good news call or deals and the person having the itchy palm became so happy and hopeful that they will soon receive money or good fortune. While in the other hand when someone is having an itching hand on the left palm the person will loss something or spend money.

Funny enough I believe in this Nigeria myth, last week I had an itchy hand on my right palm, all of a sudden I became happy and hopeful that I will receive money or something amazing soon. So two days later I received money and some gifts from husband for my birthday presents. But science did not belief on this myth that when someone it's having itching that it means that the person it's having skin dryness, bites or allergies than the assumption of future blessings.

This popular Nigeria myth about whispering at night and itching on the palm are traditional beliefs and might not be recognised by scientists but these myth reminds us of wisdom and values that has been in existence right from the time of our ancestors and it has moved down to us and most families beliefs it till today.
