Breaking Through Creative Dry Spells

Writer's block is a kind of physiological situation that affects writers, leading to a point where they find it difficult to write or create a masterpiece as they usually do. It's a situation that tends to affect writers, be they new or old; everyone experiences it once in a while, but then, we all know it'll soon clear off and you'll be back to your normal creative self and be able to write as you used to do in the past. Have I ever been in such situations before? What does it feel like, and how do I usually overcome writer's block? Find out my response to the following below.

As a writer, one who has been in the business of writing for over a decade, I'd love to let you know that, of a truth, I've indeed found myself in a situation like that before, not just once or twice, but many times since I've been writing, although that doesn't mean it happens regularly. But one thing I've come to notice is that most times when I struggle with writer's block, it's usually because I've had a long day or I'm going through one form of stress or another. On several occasions when I had a long day, it usually became difficult to think straight, and that went on to lead to what we can call writer's block for me.

Talking about how it feels to experience writer's block, to be honest, it's mostly kind of annoying. I mean, I just can't help but wonder why I'm going through such when I'm the same person who has been writing wonderfully for the longest prior to that day. So for that reason I usually find it annoying and frustrating, especially because not being able to write sometimes due to the writer's block could go on to bridge my vow or commitment set towards writing and publishing at least one piece of content daily.

And when we are to talk about how I overcome writer's block, how I usually overcome it is by first taking a pause and outrightly leaving what I'm trying to write and think about for the main time. After doing that, I tend to move on to taking a nap or sometimes engage in other things that could take my mind off what I'm trying to write and clear my mind in the process. By the time I've done both, when I go back to trying to write again, I usually find it easy because by then I feel refreshed and filled with inspiration on what to write about.

Yes, it always happen to me also. Sometimes I will be writing and find out that what I'm writing is total nonsense or the inspiration is not coming. Sometimes I will take a nap to rest my mind maybe stress is the reason but yet my mind will be block.
