I WOULD LOVE TO MENTION HIS NAME BUT I'M NOT SURE I'M ALLOWED.

This is a heart warming topic. As I saw the prompt, only one teacher immediately came to class. I know I'm supposed to call my tertiary education teacher a lecturer but he is more than that. He is the person that made me understand the difference between teaching and lecturing.

The first time I encountered in was when I was in my first year. I had gone to our faculty building to get something from my department that I needed to submit. Just as I was approaching our department area he saw me and some other girls and asked us which department we were in and we told him Mass communication. Immediately his face brightened up. He said he was looking for some students that will help him clear an office because the previous occupant was moving to a new one. Due to our innocence and wanting to please him, we followed him without asking any questions, or even telling him why we were there in the first place. When we got to the office that's when we understood the assignment; we were to carry piles of books from that office and take them down stairs, having to go down four flights of stairs, and same our way up. We did the first round without complaining. But by the next few rounds some of us started disappearing until only 3 of us remained. We were the ones that actually finished the job. It was after we had finished that he introduced himself and told us that he is one of our lecturers, and that we will meet him in the third year.

During that same year, but in the second semester, I encountered him again during our exam weeks. He was one of the invigilators that was assigned to the hall where I was seated. During one of the papers, he was going round to see what we were doing. After passing a few students he exclaimed that many had not written anything. But when he got to my seat and saw that I was almost done he became very friendly with me. He also advised me to smartly help those around me so that they can write something. It was at that point that I understood that he had the interest of students at heart truly.

All through my stay in school he was my best lecturer and he's still the best. Of all the lecturers handling the course in our department, it was his own course that I find much more interesting and easy to understand. Because when he is in class he doesn't just come and read his notes to us so we can jot down. He makes sure what he's teaching got to the back of our minds. He never leaves a class without an assignment. He even made it so that even the unserious ones came to class whenever he's teaching. His class is always packed. He calls me #chinyere

I will always be grateful for my MAS 111 lecturer. If you know you know.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗

peace out ✌️
