Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Hivestudents, which says: A Day in the life of a student, so let's dive in.
Being a student is not easy at all. Some days can be fun, while other days can be tiring and stressful. So let me share how my typical day looks like, both in school and at home.
I wake up around 5:30 AM every morning. Sometimes I don’t even want to get up because I’ll still be weak and tired from the schoolwork of the previous day. But I have to, if I don’t want to be late for lectures. After waking up, my brother and I do our morning devotion because it's important to put God first, after that, I tidy my room, brush my teeth, take my bath, dress up, and get ready for school. Sometimes if there’s food, I eat, but if not, I just drink water and start going.
By 6:30 AM, I’m already on my way to school because my lectures always start by 7:00 AM. I always try to go early so I can find a place to sit, because if I don’t, I may end up standing throughout the class because we're too many in my department and the other reason I go to school early is because of attendance, if we students don't have up to 75% attendance, it can affect our exam. Sometimes, some lecturers even come earlier and start lecturing without waiting for the remaining students. And if we arrive even just 10 minutes late, we won’t be allowed to enter the class. They don’t care whether we’re coming from far or not.
Some days, I will have two lectures from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Other days, I will have four lectures from 7:00 AM till 4:00 or 5:00 PM. Those days are the worst. We sit in class for hours, writing notes back-to-back. Before one lecture ends, the next lecturer is already waiting outside to enter. If there’s a break between lectures, I sometimes hang out with my friends. We find a spot on campus to gist, watch movies, or just relax. Other times, I stay alone, not talking to anyone including my friends, just watching movies or sleeping while waiting for the next class.
After lectures, around 3:00 or 4:00 PM, because I don’t like staying back on campus. So once I’m done with lectures, I take a shuttle straight back home because I don’t stay in the hostel, I live off-campus. When I get home, the first thing on my mind is food. I live with my brother, but we have separate rooms in the same compound. So most times, I cook for both of us or he cooks before I get home. But if we both return home very tired and late, we just buy bread or drink garri (cassava flakes) with sugar and groundnut. After eating, I try to rest a bit, but there’s always work to do — assignments, copying notes, or preparing for tests. Life as a student is not easy at all. Even resting can be hard sometimes.
By 8:00 PM, we pray, and around 10:00 PM, I either read or watch a movie. Then by 12:00 AM, I sleep so I can wake up early for the next day’s class. Like I said, I don’t live in the hostel, but where I live is a student area, it’s very noisy most times.
In conclusion, my typical day as a student looks like this:
(1) Waking up early and getting ready for school
(2) Bathing and rushing to school so I won’t be late
(3) Sitting through long hours of lectures without rest
(4) Going back home to cook, eat, do assignments, or read
(5) Sleeping late at night and repeating the same thing the next day.
Honestly, it’s not easy. But as a student, I have to endure it. But I know, One day, I will graduate and be free from all these school struggles. For now, I just have to keep pushing so that all my efforts won’t be wasted.

Yes, definitely, you will graduate and be free from all of the stress of being a student. That can be so tiring, having to wake up very early and reaching the school so you can find a place to sit. I tell you, I have gone through the experience, and it was not easy. I wish you the best in your academics.
Yes, it's not easy at all, but I must endure till I graduate. Thank you ma'am
What I hate most is waking up early and trying to catch up with lectures. Sometimes those long lectures can be tiring and boring
I also hate it but there's nothing I can do
True, that's school life
Being a student really is fun but at most times, can be tiring. There's a lot to do, there's a lot to study and more. Hope you are okay though. Tired but will still move forward no 💃💪💪
Yes being a student can be fun and tiring including stressful, because as I'm doing my assignment I will say I want to write notes including reading for test.
Being a student is not easy at all but you're privileged to have your brother in the same school with you ,it will lessen some burdens for you especially if he knows how to cook like me 😀and if his own department is not as hectic as yours
Yes, I'm privileged to have a brother with me who sometimes reduces my stress. He can cook not that much.
Yes o,you're privileged indeed..if I had my sister with me here , I for no dey complain too much o😀....
Teach your brother how to cook well o..
School is the best place to learn all this basic things
I can very well relate to this....student life enh, omo, it's just too stressful.
Good to know you are pushing through, success is all yours ma'am, it definitely will pay off someday...
Thanks for sharing.
