School side hustle

Being a student is financially demanding, wether you are sponsored by someone or self sponsored, you will realise that the money you have is not enough and that you must keep spending on daily basis and at times you spend on things you didn't really budget for. This is why having a side hustle as a student is not just good, but it's necessary especially in countries like Nigeria were the cost of living is fighting with the living on daily basis.

‎You buy something at a certain price today, going back to get it the next morning, you will hear a different story, the price has doubled if not even tripled. And you realize that your initial plans had been shattered. If the commodity was important to you, you have no choice than to look for a way and get it. And you can only get it when you have the money. So having a side hustle helps you beat some kind inflation and reduces the level of dependency. Therefore, as a student , non-student you need it, because it has been helpful.

‎Back then in my higher institution days, I never really had any serious side hustle apart from the music skill I developed from home, even when I was not too good with some of the musical instruments that I played back then, I still needed to use the little knowledge that I had to help myself. I can remember always going to programs with one of my guy to play and at the end of the event we will be paid, even when sometimes the pay was not much but it was still very helpful because it will solve one or two problems. Those days we mostly play in churches, tarry nights and other church activities, we play in traditional marriages and funerals too. That particular side hustle was helpful on till I noticed that it has started affecting my academic activities, I now had to put a stop to it and then face my studies and other minor side hustling like assisting some people do their research work and also doing MC jobs for friends during their birthday.

‎To this end, side hustle is necessary and should be a key part of every students life.
