Campus life is over rated and to some extent , some people might call it a scam, because to some of us some story that they told us came out directly opposite . But in the other hand some people had good fun while in school.
Before I resumed they told me, campus life is somehow not easy but you will really enjoy oo, you will have the freedom to go to anywhere because you will be staying alone. I was a bit happy about this particular one, because I had imagine going out with my friends to be playing musical instruments for churches and events to get paid. I was a bit happy because I knew that even when I leave my house at night for a show (ekpamo), no body will query me, unlike when I was under my parents roof.
But what happened when I started school, truly it was a dream come true for me, because the first semester I was really balling, I do go for night vigil with my guy in another local government just to go and play ( my little side hustle then).
But funny enough , after the first semester, no body told me to stop the movement. I peacefully advice myself and the level of going out for a show , especially at night reduced drastically.
Now the other aspect they lied to us was , my friends telling me that when I have admission, I will always be able to save a lot of money from what my parents will give for feeding and other stuff. The story was juicy but the reality was something else. How money keep finishing was a mystery, even the savings will also finish before the next feeding money arrived. The reality was a total opposite of the story that they told me.
Another story that the reality came out opposite was, " in university you are going to do only few courses, especially when you get to year 2 and 3 which you will focus more on your core departmental courses". Well, the few courses that we did even gave more headache than the numerous subjects that we did in secondary school. And where time demanding. I remembered one practical physics that we did for about 14 hours. ( taking the soil temperature for different hours of the day). It was not funny. But to God be the glory we sailed through.
Although for some, it was always fun fun fun and for some it was a direct opposite.
