It's a good thing that you didn't quit Hive then because of that, and instead, worked on improving yourself. That was a really good move.
What I've come to understand as I continue to spend time on Hive is that it's rewards patience and consistency more. Giving up after a few posts because of lack of engagement is actually not a good idea.
A lot of people are not patient enough
You are an old member, you had to go the extra mile and that’s impressive. As a person who joined not long ago, I had no problems getting settled, although I was not referred and found it by searching the web many times. The main problem for me was in the creation of an account. For a year I got carried away with creating an account and somehow got sidetracked.
Even though it is built of communities that try to help, but often I see the newer people helping each other. Even though there is plenty of support baked into the system, it takes time for people to discover.
