Holla students and past students, first time, here and a past student to be precise😀
Going through the four walls of school means you will be loaded with memories and experiences. It's a new experience for you, best believe you will laugh, cry, crash out, experiment, learn etc.
So, tell us yours! Whether funny, embarrassing, or inspiring, tell us about your school experience that you will never forget.
I had so many experiences as a student, some good, some cute, some bad, some ugly, some embarrassing each showing me a part of school I never knew existed and adding to the plethora of experiences I have already gathered.
While I have so many experiences and would love to share them with you all, for the sake of this post I will be sharing just one.
My most inspiring moment as a student back then was defending my project.
I don't know about others but my project landed me in depression. I cried for days because I was unable to get it right and my project supervisor didn’t make it any easier.
With everything that happened during the preparation phase, I wasn't expecting my project defense to go smoothly. I had given up every thought of acing my defense and at that point, I just wanted to get it over with and move on with my life or so I thought.
On the day of the defense, I was so scared. My heart was beating so fast and loud that I thought the person next to me could hear it.
I knew I was screwed that day as my final approved chapters didn't end up exactly how I wanted them to, so it made preparation difficult.
When it was my turn to defend I suddenly became cold and I could hear my voice crack. I couldn't recognize the voice I was hearing and I sounded unsure at the beginning. It was hard at first until I got a glimpse of two of my lecturers nodding their heads. I was surprised that people could make sense of the gibberish I was saying and in no time I regained my confidence.
A part of me was screaming "Go girl you are making sense!” And I slowly became intentional of the "sense" I was making and the words began to flow effortlessly, in no time I was demonstrating and carefully walking them through the details of my project, explaining concepts, citing examples, and weaving them together to buttress my point.
Halfway through, they were clapping, Lol, it felt surreal! I had to keep my emotions in check before I lost it. How and where I got the confidence to defend my project and to impress my lecturers and professors is something I still can’t wrap my head around.
I finished and I was applauded and got amazing feedback. Truly, God did it!
I left the auditorium feeling proud and grateful. To top it all off, one of our professors requested I give him a copy of my work and asked that I sign my autograph on it. Hehehe that was my first real autograph since the ones I had signed previously in my life were mostly jokes.
So yeah, my project defense day was one memorable day for me.

It was intense for you I guess, when your final chapter didn't go as you wanted.
I believe you did a very good job and you received the proper accolade for it 👍.
Before defending a project normally most people gets nervous but I believe that when you're the one that truly wrote your project, you won't lack what to say and how to properly defend it.
I believe that experience is a memorable one @ibbtammy
beautiful memories there, I can relate 😆...weldone xoxo
Thank you dearie.
you welcome 😊
Wow... I could feel the tension and relief as you narrated your defense.
You know, It takes real courage to push through fear and self-doubt, and you did it so beautifully.
Big congratulations on not just acing your defense, but also leaving the hall with applause and even an autograph request, that’s iconic.
Thanks for sharing this, it really motivates students like me who are still on the journey.
Wow.... Even I felt my heart beating fast the same time yours did.
I can imagine how you felt when the preparation didn't turn out as you would have wanted but nevertheless, the gibberish you thought you were saying turned out to make perfect sense.
This is really something memorable to remember. Not everyone would have kept pushing like you did 😊.
Wow, that moment two of your lecturer nod is that moment that will bring confidence, it will feels as yes I am saying a good thing.
