My school, school of health information, was situated a bit far from the school's university, and in the surrounding area are other health schools. The nursing, community health officers, biomedical engineering, dark room studies and the laboratory technicians. This combo might have been an interesting one if competition on who's the best school wasn't our usual fight. We'll literally go to either the nursing students or the biomedical students and start up an argument in an attempt to cover the guilt that our profession only deals with cards and writing of patient's information- One major thing I didn't like about my course. Why study for 5 years total only to end up writing names and filing folders in shelves, what anyone can learn in 2 days. Maybe because they thought we were dumb and had to keep us five years to learn how to spell names and keep folders on shelves.
Maybe they were right, hahaha. We didn't have any steez, we were the only school in the entire school that didn't mind climbing mango trees during school hours and shouting "pluck that ripe one, Give me that stone, that mango tree get sweet mangoes pass" as health students. And if you care to know, those mangoes were my breakfast and dinner.
What remained a culture was the yearly scientific week for new students. A week free of lectures with social engagement, the Last night was the social night, it was all party and social events, and boy the night when you see the beauty from every female student. I only have one issue about this very night, the fellowship body believed I shouldn't be part of this, especially when one was a leader like I was. I longed to be there, but someone was going to report to the top officials that the president was there. You see me walking past the venue like I'm checking the people who attended but something in me wanted to bring out the social me that has been cubed by some rules. Imagine the nights when the Love of my life wants to dance with me, but I'm busy on patrol and peeping the show at any available chances. This kept repeating all through my years in school because I remained a leader and I know my successors till date are going through the same pain.
Sounds like fun... Well done

Fun that I'm ways denied
I so much love attending all of these social events sometimes because obviously they give me that chance to unwind and just have fun. You canβt be going to class all the time. Although the social activities here in my school is actually not that lively like i would want.
Social relationship should be part of what is introduced in schools but unfortunately some schools deny us that privilege
Student week is always filled with fun, what surprises me in my school is how Lectures in Engineering bash this students week and still keep active lectures, we are just used to it though.
Schools with different ways of observing their week. Ours is lecture free
Ours too is lectures free but the lecturers in engineering just chose to keep classes

Did I feel your pain???
Oh yes but that didn't quench my laughter π. Then again, I don't really agree with that.
Yes ...... one shouldn't fantasize over worldly stuffs and all that but our fellowship and worship to God also shouldn't limit us from engaging in social activities atleast once in a while as presented by your school.
It's a pity that such rule is still in place and I really hope someone will advocate for a change.

I believe some leaders attend, not minding what followed. Maybe I was just the good guy
Ohhhh...if that's the case, then you were too hard on yourself π .
scientific week sounds great
I was a bookaholic but it didn't prevent me from attending to social events in my university days ππΊ
Look like I missed out big time on this
