A Moment That Really Mattered

In life, and our many experiences, encounters, adventures; all that we've done and attained, there are particular ones, or a particular one that means a lot and holds much value because of the situation it was born from. Most times, these moments matter the most to us. We can't seem to forget them even if our minds get filled with a lot of other things. The worth of the moment or moments, especially from the impact they've had remains unforgettable, and fresh in our minds.

I think they give this tingle anytime our minds journey back to them. They are not just events or experiences or even moments, but rather, they are cherished memories, which we relish when we look back. A reason could be the unexpected nature of the moment or the overwhelming feeling it gave and the chills it now gives when we think of it. I don't think anyone would forget such moment or moments, nor would they like to.

I still remember well one of such moments during my academic journey in a higher institution. It wasn't an easy journey, and the fact that I scaled through the way I did remains a testimony. In the midst of the academic pursuit, I faced some overwhelming situations. It's one of those moments that will now live unforgettable. And one that I certainly count when I recount my academic journey in a higher institution.

So, we were to have a design presentation. One that costs more than half of the hundred percent of a major course. I was engaged with a lot that period, but I knew I had to prepare for my presentation as well. We designed and presented our designs, answering all the bullets called questions thrown at us in defence of our designs. I was yet to get done with the designs. Some were ready, some were not yet ready. It was the eve of the presentation day. I knew I had that day to finish up.

Here then came the big issue. I planned to enter school that night, print some stuff for the design and then get it done. Coming back home from an engagement, I had a mishap that cost me my laptop, somehow. It went faulty, and I had yet to even print what I needed altogether with the fact that it was night. Yes, I was confused and overwhelmed by the situation. I had planned with a friend to go to school that night but at that point, I had it off my mind. Thankfully, my friend came later and encouraged me to go. I mustered strength and did.

Without printing what I needed, I had to devise a way to get what I needed. The bottom line is, I was able to get some of the designs done, others were left undone. The presentation day is now here. I went home, prepared, and said a prayer for God to take control. Here's the moment that I can't forget. My incomplete designs were not considered by the jurors, rather, I was commended for having something good and appealing. What started as an awful day turned into a beautiful one, full of smiles. That moment matters a lot to me. It's significant in my academic journey.
