The Phase of Life I Admired Turned Illusion

Good old times when I look up to some adults in the hope of turning one someday. They live just so perfectly, not being controlled by anyone or ordered around even when you want to be alone. When they can actually purchase anything they want with no strict order by anyone to question their decision and most importantly when there's the independence to living their lives without being punished or beaten for it.

Little did I know that I only saw the smile and smooth face on the outside but I never knew that behind those smiles were hidden tears, struggles, worries and uncertainty of how tomorrow will be but placed on hope. My genesis to revelation thoughts were "adulthood is the best phase of life".

I wouldn't say reality made me see it otherwise as not been the best phase of life but I am able to realize that there are sacrifices that come along with the phase in making it the best. When those sacrifices don't work out successfully, then best turns to a worse experience as opposed the whole intentions of looking forward to turning an adult someday and live well like those we saw while being a child.

Growing up, I have come to know that not all rats you chase ends up getting caught by you. You lose sight of some, you kill some, some destroys you by eating your name out of your certificate while you just get to look away from some because there's no strength to chase them. Some goals will be achievable and you see yourself as a bright morning star and sometimes you fail at some.

Reality of life has taught me that not everyone will rise at a time even though this has made many people turn the wrong direction and make rational decisions. Commiting suicide because they are not where their peers are yet and all they look like is nothing but failure but for me, I see them as getting to their own hour of the clock and when it's time for mine, it will surely make a ting-tong sound.

It may not be as easy as I thought when looking up to those adults back then, but at the same time, It built me, shaped me and made me see the different spheres to life and survival. Only that I was unable to become the career they made me sing in Sandalily Sandalily lullaby

I'll be dropping my šŸ–Šļø here on the Hive student community prompt

Thanks for reading through šŸ¤—

Our innocent heart never knew the behind the scenes of our parents, aunties and uncles loves and struggles.

And now that we are older we wish to become a child again.
The situation of our country is not helping too.

Comparison from parents, families and even friends. All of a sudden you're competing in a competition nobody invited you to. Peer group influence either helps of ruin you.

And the society, making you look like a failure because of one set back. Forgetting all fingers are not equal.

Our so called friends are not left out. They forget the definition of friendship and have twisted it to give and take.

Seriously it's so disheartening just thinking about all of that especially the part of getting into a competition we were naturally not invited to enter and before you know it, you're already making yourself feel left out all because those high expectations are not met.

Unless we're just so cautious of how we treat ourselves, that's when we don't end up going too blindly without taking a pause which obviously leads those people who opts for suicide as an option
