People think that taking actions to be prepared for the future is a stressful thing to do, hence the common phrase of crossing the bridge when they get there.
Personally, I think it's a way to avoid the immediate responsibility of having to deal with a problem. Like a form of procrastination somewhat.
It is indeed a form of procrastination, one that I am guilty of myself sometimes. It happens, but we can do better, you know.
Surely, we can always do better.
