My Mothers Companion; Our Comfort

Hello dear Hivers,

Say hi to our baby, Marga. I really miss Marga she’s that kind of dog I truly loved. You know, whenever I arrive home after being out, she never stops wagging her tail unless I pet her. And when I do, she would immediately turn around so I could scratch her back.

Back then, it was just her and my mom all the time, because both of us were working. Marga was the only companion she had every day. In the past, my mom didn’t like dogs at all she was never comfortable with having a dog around. But now, after trying it out and bringing a dog into our lives, well, the dog’s food seems to matter more than ours (LOL).

Now, it has gotten to the point where my mom hardly wants to go anywhere she feels sad leaving Marga behind, having to entrust her care to another person. The woman who once strongly disliked dogs now barely wants to leave the house because there’s no one else she trusts to look after Marga.

It’s funny how things change. Before, just the mere thought of having a dog inside the house made my mom uneasy; now, she hates the idea of leaving Marga alone so much that she would rather stay home. Marga is no longer just a dog — she’s become a part of our family.

Every time my mom walks out the door, she hesitates; she worries about leaving Marga behind. In the beginning, my mom was against having a dog for her, dogs were probably messy, unpredictable, or maybe barking all the time. But once she got to see Marga day in and day out, witnessed Marga’s loyalty, her eagerness to greet us every time we return, her unconditional love well, all those fears and prejudices just melted away.

Now, Marga gets more attention sometimes than we ourselves do. My mom often spoils her a bit — maybe giving her extra treats, or lingering a little longer in the yard so Marga won’t feel lonely. That dog has become a companion, a friend; a source of comfort especially on days when we’re both tired or stressed from work.

Truth be told, Marga isn’t just “our pet.” She’s our comfort, our waiting-in-silence friend who wags her tail the moment she sees us. She doesn’t ask for much, just gentle pats and occasional scratch behind the ears or on the back; and yet she gives so much affection.

I remember times when my mom would come home, exhausted but seeing Marga greet her at the door; all those worries and fatigue would somehow disappear. The simple gesture of Marga curling beside her, leaning her head or nudging a paw it melts away stress.

Because of Marga, my mom began to understand what having a loyal pet really means. Before strict, worried, unsure. Now calm, fond, protective. A dog has changed not only our home, but our hearts.

It’s amazing how Marga transformed our every day. She’s more than just a companion to us; she became a little part of the family we never thought we needed. Leaving her behind to someone else now feels impossible. The “no dogs” belief that my mom once had has completely disappeared replaced by love and attachment.

So, dear Hivers if you happen to walk by our house, don’t forget to greet Marga for me. Maybe you’ll see her tail wagging, waiting eagerly for a friendly pat. Because to us, she’s not just a dog she’s love, loyalty, and a little bit of home.

Thank you for taking the time to read and see you on my next blog.

Marga is now your mother's favorite! It's beautiful how we come to love animals so much. They are undoubtedly part of the family.

It'd amazing how pets become part of the family.
