Hello Hello to all Hivians and indeed anyone reading this.
Some of my favourite posts to write on Hive are the feathered friends posts, especially as the rewards go to buying their food in the park.
The pictures in this post were all taken on Wednesday July 30th 2025. Some of these pictures were used to make the lead image for this post on Canva by the author.
As some of you might know, I recently added mealworms to the list of food that I feed
So on my latest visit to the park I added some of these delicious mealworms!
I set up their dinner table and sat back and watched the action!
Someone was enjoying their food.
Soon enough there were two...
But a free table was spotted!
How far is it ... Can I make it?
Yes I can!
Let's Do This!!
By the left, quick march!
This post though, is an entry for this week's Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 231 hosted by the wonderful @nelinoeva in the fantastic Feathered Friends community on Hive.
Fruits of his flight
That was a tricky choice to make and a process of elimination.
If any of the flight pictures had been more in focus I might have picked them.
What do you think? Was that your favourite?

I'm sure they love you and your free food nowπβ¨
Yeah have to try and have a bit of fun here, there is too much nonsense going on otherwise! Yeah they love their free food. This summer they have been struggling to get enough food for their young!
Amazing photograph. π Especially with the step by step presentation they look even more wonderful. Its nice to see the interest taken by you to add real worms to its diets. Good luck friend.
Thank you and yes I think they deserve some real worms and nutrients in their diets :)
The magpieβs βquick marchβ part made me laughβfelt like watching a mini bird action movie. Iβve never fed birds mealworms before, but now Iβm curious how theyβd react.
I tried to make it like a wee movie.
The mealworms were dead though, otherwise they would have wiggled off the rock π€£
Ah now I know who got tha dditional protein for their dinner. :)
no beer for the birds?

Yeah full of nutrients it is Eka. I get fed up seeing people give birds bread, they need stuff that helps them.
But nooooo, the beer is only for me π€£

Hehe well I do eat the oatmeal but will pass on the rest π€£
Yeah, oatmeal is legit. I don't eat it as much as I should.

Awesome pictures! Magpies are such smart birds, it looks like they enjoyed the feast you provided. We have a different species of them around here, but the same behavior worldwide. Very cool birds, thanks for sharing some great pictures!

You just got DUO from @thebighigg.
They have 1/1 DUO calls left.

They are one of my favourite breeds, I just love their blue feathers in amongst all that black and white. They really are smart as are all the corvids.
Yeah that pair hang around that little area and come flying in when they see me!
All good fun :)
A great hobby, my dear friend @tengolotodo. I'm sure the birds will appreciate it. The photo of the bird with its legs and wings tucked in looks great. Thanks for sharing. A big hug from Maracay.
Thanks Irvin, I loved how it launched itself then opened its wings. I hope you are having a great week, and sending you a hug from Scotland!
A question, dear friend: Are there many tourists in your area these days in summer?

How many tables did you set up?π Looks like the other one wouldn't shareπ.
Hehe there was three, those 2 that were close and then another one a little further away!
Hehehe, do they fight for it?π
I wonder if the birds recognize you yet. Maybe when they see you coming, they will say, among themselves: "Here comes the guy with the camera, the one who uses us as a model. The good thing is that he always brings food". hahaha. I liked that you presented the photos as a story and yes, if the photos in full had come out sharp, they would have been perfect for the contest. But the one you selected is fine. A hug with wings
Well the aquatic birds, the ducks and the swans, now they do know me and come racing over. The ground birds are getting there slowly but they are slower to learn.
What was that called? I'm not familiar of that bird. But looks like a good thought, but literally if I see it on personal it get me scared.
They are magpies
