Hello, dear ones! Today I would like to introduce you to a tried and tested remedy that is far too underestimated. I keep noticing how much people want to take an interest in the environment, but often don't even know where to start - and where conscious action in dealing with the environment even begins.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not one of those ‘climate sticklers’ and I'm not talking about imposing absurd taxes on us to save the climate. First and foremost, it's about doing without and being conscious of our own consumption - which unfortunately is hardly ever talked about here. No, instead they want to ban meat and trees - in my view, this is arbitrary harassment. And yes, there are actually people who fall for it.

But well: I don't want to judge or judge anyone - I want to show a solution! A solution that perhaps doesn't come in pretty jars and bottles on oil-based plastic with glossy labels for detergents, fabric softeners, washing powder, cleaning products and so on... But a solid, natural base that works wonders in different combinations.
This base is called baking soda! I have tonnes of baking soda in my cupboard - and I can't imagine life without it. Everything I used to buy - cleaning products, descaling agents, oven spray, laundry whitener and all the other stuff - I have now replaced. Use up what you have, but don't buy any more. Instead, bring the all-rounder baking soda into your home - and you'll never get out of the cleaning frenzy again. LOOL
Where and how can you actually use baking soda everywhere? I'll be happy to give you a brief overview.

Clean the drain without chemicals Pour three tablespoons of baking soda down the drain, add vinegar, wait ten minutes and then rinse with boiling water. Run clear water through again for a few seconds - done! All odours and residues are gone.

Is your oven crusty? No problem - baking soda will take care of it. Simply mix baking soda with water to form a solid paste, rub it into the oven, leave it on overnight and wipe it off the next day. No more scrubbing, no more effort, no more incrustations - baking soda makes it possible!
Does your favourite carpet smell? Instead of spraying expensive, perfumed products that only mask the odour: use baking soda! Sprinkle it on the carpet, spray with water, leave for a day, allow to dry and then vacuum. All odours? Gone!

The same with laundry: Older items of clothing or towels that are no longer absorbent or have lost their structure due to fabric softener? No problem with baking soda! Simply soak in bicarbonate of soda for 30 minutes, then wash as usual. What previously smelled of smoke, mustiness or something else is fresh again and free of anything that caused the odour.

For stubborn sweat stains and odours: Mix baking soda with lemon juice, apply and leave to work. Then it's a case of a little patience and preferably sunshine on the windowsill. You will see the results - then wash as usual.

White laundry looks tired? No problem! Add two to three spoonfuls of baking soda directly into the washing drum and wash the white laundry as normal - done! No bleach, no perfume - just pure nature.

Has your plastic turned yellow? No problem! Mix baking soda with a sip of water to make a paste, rub the affected areas gently with a sponge, leave for ten minutes and then wipe off with a damp cloth - done!

Window frames and seals are mouldy or black in the joints? Apply bicarbonate of soda paste and off you go!

Making your own cosmetics? Deodorant is very simple: mix a pinch of baking soda with water. If you prefer something more sophisticated, add a little coconut oil and a few drops of orange or lavender oil.

A footbath against calluses and mouldy feet - this is also possible with baking soda! I could give you countless more examples of what baking soda can be used for, but then I really would still be sitting here writing tomorrow morning - and you might not have any incentive to find out more for yourselves. Maybe you have a great grandma who taught you such home remedies. Unfortunately, I didn't have that. But over the course of time, I have learnt to consume and consume consciously - and still keep everything spotlessly clean, without a lot of fuss and chemicals.

If you consciously organise your everyday life, you can save yourself expensive chemicals, overpriced cosmetic products or perfume-laden detergents. You prevent allergies - and live in harmony with nature and in an environmentally conscious way.

Hallo, ihr Lieben! Heute möchte ich euch ein viel zu unterschätztes, altbewährtes Mittel vorstellen. Mir fällt immer wieder auf, wie sehr sich Menschen für die Umwelt interessieren wollen, aber oft gar nicht wissen, wo sie anfangen sollen – und wo bewusstes Handeln im Umgang mit der Umwelt überhaupt beginnt.

Versteht mich nicht falsch: Ich bin keiner dieser „Klimakleber“ und rede auch nicht davon, dass wir mit absurden Steuern belangt werden müssten, um das Klima zu retten. Es geht in erster Linie um den eigenen Verzicht und den bewussten Umgang mit dem eigenen Verbrauch – worüber hier leider kaum gesprochen wird. Nein, stattdessen will man Fleisch und Bäume verbieten – aus meiner Sicht eine willkürliche Schikane. Und ja, es gibt tatsächlich Menschen, die darauf hereinfallen.

Aber gut: Ich möchte niemanden verurteilen oder bewerten – sondern eine Lösung zeigen! Eine Lösung, die vielleicht nicht in hübschen Döschen und Fläschchen auf ölbasiertem Plastik daherkommt, beklebt mit Hochglanzetiketten für Reiniger, Weichspüler, Waschmittel, Putzmittel und und und... Sondern eine solide, natürliche Basis, die in unterschiedlichen Kombinationen wahre Wunder wirkt.

Diese Basis heißt: Natron! Ich habe Natron kiloweise im Schrank – und es ist nicht mehr wegzudenken. Alles, was ich früher gekauft habe – Putzmittel, Entkalker, Backofenspray, Wäscheweißer und wie der ganze Kram noch heißt – habe ich inzwischen ersetzt. Verbraucht, was ihr habt, aber kauft es nicht mehr nach. Holt euch stattdessen den Allrounder Natron ins Haus – und ihr kommt nie wieder aus dem Putzwahn raus. LOOL

Wo und wie kann man Natron eigentlich überall anwenden? Ich verschaffe euch gern einen kleinen Überblick.

Abfluss reinigen ohne Chemiekeule Drei Esslöffel Natron in den Abfluss geben, Essig darüber, zehn Minuten warten und anschließend mit kochendem Wasser nachspülen. Noch einmal klares Wasser für ein paar Sekunden durchlaufen lassen – fertig! Alle Gerüche und Rückstände sind verschwunden.

Euer Backofen ist verkrustet? Kein Thema – Natron regelt das. Einfach Natron mit Wasser zu einer noch festen Paste anrühren, den Backofen damit einreiben, über Nacht einwirken lassen und am nächsten Tag abwischen. Kein Schrubben, kein Kraftakt, keine Verkrustungen mehr – Natron macht’s möglich!

Der Lieblingsteppich müffelt? Statt teure, parfümierte Mittel zu versprühen, die nur den Geruch überdecken: Greif zu Natron! Den Teppich bestreuen, mit Wasser besprühen, einen Tag einwirken lassen, trocknen lassen und dann absaugen. Alle Gerüche? Weg!

Das Gleiche mit Wäsche: Ältere Kleidungsstücke oder Handtücher, die nicht mehr saugfähig sind oder durch Weichspüler ihre Struktur eingebüßt haben? Alles kein Problem mit Natron! Einfach 30 Minuten in Natronwasser einweichen, danach wie gewohnt waschen. Was vorher nach Rauch, Muff oder Sonstigem roch, ist wieder frisch und frei von allem, was den Geruch verursacht hat.

Bei hartnäckigen Schweißflecken und -gerüchen: Natron mit Zitronensaft anrühren, auftragen und einwirken lassen. Dann heißt es: ein bisschen Geduld und am besten Sonne auf der Fensterbank. Man sieht die Ergebnisse – danach wie gewohnt waschen.

Weiße Wäsche sieht müde aus? Kein Problem! Zwei bis drei Löffel Natron direkt in die Waschtrommel geben und die weiße Wäsche ganz normal waschen – fertig! Ohne Bleichmittel, ohne Parfum – einfach Natur pur.

Euer Kunststoff ist vergilbt? Kein Thema! Natron mit einem Schluck Wasser zu einer Paste anrühren, betroffene Stellen zart mit einem Schwamm einreiben, zehn Minuten einwirken lassen und am Ende mit einem feuchten Lappen abwischen – fertig!

Fensterrahmen und Dichtungen schimmeln oder sind in den Fugen schwarz? Natronpaste drauf und los geht’s!
Kosmetik selber machen? Ein Deo geht ganz einfach: eine Messerspitze Natron mit Wasser mischen. Wer’s edler mag, gibt noch etwas Kokosöl und ein paar Tropfen Orangen- oder Lavendelöl dazu.

Ein Fußbad gegen Hornhaut und muffige Füße? – Auch das ist mit Natron möglich! Ich könnte jetzt noch unzählige Beispiele nennen, wofür Natron alles anwendbar ist, aber dann sitze ich hier wirklich noch morgen früh und schreibe – und ihr hättet vielleicht gar keinen Anreiz mehr, euch selbst zu informieren. Vielleicht habt ihr ja auch eine tolle Oma, die euch solche Hausmittel beigebracht hat. Mir hat das leider gefehlt. Aber ich habe mir im Laufe der Zeit selbst angeeignet, bewusst zu verbrauchen und zu konsumieren – und trotzdem alles pikobello sauber zu halten, ganz ohne viel Tamtam und Chemie.

Wer seinen Alltag bewusst gestaltet, spart sich teure Chemiekeulen, überteuerte Kosmetikprodukte oder parfümüberladene Waschmittel. Man beugt Allergien vor – und lebt im Einklang mit der Natur und umweltbewusst.

In diesem Sinne: Euch einen wunderschönen Start ins Wochenende! Lasst es euch gut gehen – vielleicht ja sogar mit einem Natron-Fußbad oder einem erfrischenden Ganzkörperbad im kühlen Nass.
