Hello Hello world and Happy 4th thingy to all who celebrate.
Being a mixed household our celebrations are quite muted. Me being the Brit and Mrs T the American you think would explain that, especially as we are living in the UK at the moment.
However there is more to it than that. Mrs T's father grew up on a reservation in Oklahoma primarily for Choctaw native americans or Chahta as thye call themselves. His ancestors arrived there forcibly through the despicable Trail of Tears in the 1830/40s.
The similarities between the Trail of Tears and the Highland Clearances are startling. Forced evictions on a massive scale. All for money.
As a species we sure as hell be utter bastards to each other!
Mrs T's parents divorced and her mother remarried. Her stepfather was extremely patriotic, a big July 4th person and served in the Air Force.
I remember when we were living in the States, we would go round for a party on July 4th. Boy oh boy talk about burnt hot dogs, he was useless on the grill.
Her father though would not celebrate July 4th.
I did meet him a few times and even went to see the reservation where he grew up. What struck me was the striking similarities to what happened in Scotland with the Highland clearances.
Well this morning I got an email from one of my side hustles.
Could I do a mystery shop today between 5pm and 9pm.
Make a specific order from a fast restaurant and get it delivered.
Take a few pics and get the food reimbursed!
Why not, pizza often typifies American food to me.
Over here pizza is pretty bland and crap, but if it was not being bought by me and I got a free night in the kitchen then I was game on!
I did discover a new flavour of squash or juice that came with the meal...
Raspberries are my favourite fruit and this did not disappoint!
Fluffing gorgeous it was. Now just need to see who sells a big bottle.
The other pictures were from today too.

I repeat again: I want to have your job, Ed. Free food? Sounds great! I don't know about the taste, but the pizza doesn't look too bad, although I prefer it thinner. Isn't there an opening for me at your job? Independence Day is celebrated here tomorrow, July 5th. An Independence Day hug, Ed!
haha many irons in the fire. Is that an expression you use over there Nancy! Well the pizza was free so it was okay, I most certainly would not be paying £20.48 for that little lot!
You could not get much thinner ... Look ....
Hehe or did you mean the crust!
A wonderful Independence hug for you tomorrow Nancy 🤗
Free food for celebration? It's great !!! Happy 4th!!!
Hehe gotta love free. Hope you are having a great weekend :)
A very nice weekend for you too, my friend 😊🌻
Did anyone say free pizza? I'd be down for it, lol! Such a great way to celebrate the 4th of July!
hehe yes all free and I didn't need to cook, so it was all good!
That actually looks like a pretty decent pie for coming from outside the United States! I can absolutely understand why he would not want to celebrate the 4th. While the independence is good, the whole other stuff is just horrible.
It was okay, I must admit I preferred the tater tots dipped in garlic, but was all free and saved me cooking, so it was all good.
Yeah every country I have been to has had a nasty past unfortunately.
The tater tots dipped in garlic sound amazing!
Happy 4th thingy, haha, whatever that is 😆. I've been craving a lot of foods these days including pizza and this post is really tempting me to order some 🤤🤧🤧
The Americans Independence day, yours if I remember is June 12th hehe the same day as my wedding anniversary!
The pizza and tater tots were great, as I just went clickety click on my phone and then half an hour later, the food was at the door hehe! Now I need to see if you ordered some!
$WINE
thank you :)
nice courtesy and certainly very nice at the palate for sure, however, real deal for fattening and a bomb for the liver and kidneys
Everything in moderation, but yes I don't eat this every day.
The pizza looks exquisite. Thanks for sharing.
Free foods today? I would be happy if there's one here, So I don't need to cook also.😬😛😛
Free pizza? That’s a solid win. No cooking, no dishes, and you get to try something new, the squash juice, a perfect way to end the day.😀
Yeah the best bit was no cooking and no dishes lol! Always a good feeling getting something like food delivered for nothing.
Pure joy! Nothing beats just sitting back, enjoying a good meal and not having to worry about a single dish.🤗
What is this with bacon and garlic dip. It look great?
Might as well enjoy when free, rare occasion anything is gifted, night off sounds good to any person preparing daily meals.
On that note, totally agree.
That's love, knowing Mrs. T's family history.
You took advantage of that promotion very well. In my country, they don't offer things like that. 😮💨.
