Silver Bloggers' Community Smorgasbord - 10th Edition 2025

smorgasbord16092021.jpg

Hello, Silver Bloggers!

Here we are again to showcase another bunch of posts from our Silver Bloggers - it's that time when we share some of your gems.

We appreciate your posts in the community, so as long as we have posts from our Silver Bloggers, we will try to highlight some of them.

But first, let me tell you how we selected the posts.

Selection criteria

All the posts are chosen from posts in the community, and from accounts that have subscribed to the Silver Bloggers' community. Also, the topic must fit in with our general themes as set out on our community page -

  • a keenness to learn more about blockchain and crypto
  • life experiences
  • musings and memories of lives lived
  • planning for (and doing) life beyond formal work

Posts that are a response to #BOM and #SilverPrompts or any contest in the community are not considered.

If you missed some of those awesome posts, we encourage you to go back and read them. If you would still like to support the authors, even though some are past their payout dates: don't waste your vote, leave a tip. (The web versions of @peakd and @ecency offer this facility.)

The "Smorgasbord" - 9th Edition 2025!

Two Mothers, One Love!!!

by @edith-4angelseu Silver Lumina

Grandma was different. Where my mother showed tenderness, Grandma applied firmness. Where my mother comforted, Grandma taught me. Her wrinkled hands calloused from years of farming became my guide. She was wise and strong, a pillar and a rock, it was from the sun's rising and not earlier than the moon's ascent did she begin and end each day.

Do what gives colour to your life!

by @mamani

And so it did. The total disconnection of the electrical system in Cuba caused the lack of electricity at home. We were many days without electricity, darkness day and night, fear of losing what little I had in my fridge, mobile phones without charge, the computer without being able to use it, I lost sleep completely and I even invented a lamp to see if I could sleep, but my head was only thinking about when the problem would be solved.

Excess of Photos and Pantomime with the Botarata theater group and the Portuguesa 2025 /Exceso de Fotos y Pantomima con el grupo teatral Botarata de Guanare - Venezuela

by @eleazarvo

The sun, almost at noon, made the performance very difficult, despite the coolness of the costumes. We had a guest theater group called "Fanette," which had some very elaborate costumes reminiscent of bees, and we can't imagine the heat level in those costumes. However, the audience was very entertained even though we were there around noon. The performance was very tiring, but very satisfying. It's part of the job, but when you see the joyful faces of the children, well, it's worth it...

Morning Pages - burn after writing ... or maybe compost?

by @shanibeer Silver Moon

I'd heard about Morning Pages years ago, I'm not sure where from, but there seemed to be a fashion, people were doing things first thing in the morning, either writing their Morning Pages, or spending half an hour journalling or perhaps drawing, only half an hour, mind, that seemed to be part of the code. Maybe it was on the NLab course I went on long ago, say 2005 or 2006, when Web 2.0 was new.

New Window Installation and Sewing Curtains

by @sunscape Silver Sunscape

I found these insulated panels at a local store for $15.00 / 2 panels and purchased 2 packs. All I needed to do was sew all the panels together to use them on the sliding glass door going out to the back porch. It took forever to iron all that fabric. Once they were hung, I pleated them and clipped them for two days to create the folds.

Happy with my new mug with HIVE logo❤️❤️

by @nancybriti1 Silver Flea

Anyway, the idea is to be thankful for the things we receive and celebrate them, because the universe is an infinite provider. In that sense, today I want to be thankful for my new super coffee mug that my beautiful niece None (Eloynes) gave me. #
My niece recently discussed her thesis for her degree in graphic design. Her thesis defense was very good, but it was also very emotional, as she had words of gratitude for her entire family.

As a reminder

The #bom and #silverprompts are meant to encourage and inspire. So remember that you can write about any of the topics that have already passed if you have writer's block.
