The beautiful thing about writing in this community is how it makes me feel nostalgic.

I could go on and on to write about my most cherished childhood toys I played with, because my childhood days were the most fun. Especially the fact that I grew up around my cousins, which made it even more innovative and fulfilled.

What were some of the toys you played with?
You may even have made your own toys from ordinary stuff around the house, or made up your own games?

First of all, we lived in fenced compound, which meant not going out to play with other kids, but since I had my cousins who were my age group, I didn't think I missed out on any childhood games.

I recall I made myself a baby doll with my school cardigan, there was a way of creating it after which I secured it with my brothers tie as hands and legs. Thinking about this has made me laugh a countless times while writing this.
I wore that self made doll, my best outfits, and treasured it so much.

It was as though, it was part of the family, cause you'd see me carry it anywhere I was headed except to school.

I and my cousins improvised a paper football pitch game, where we used our biro covers as the players and buttons as the ball.

Each person held to the cover and passed the button to their desired number which was created on the paper, and whoevee was representing the number acted as the player using a biro cover.

Water games were another game I played with alongside my cousins. We could be indoors but having the most fun with these games.

I vividly recall the "hide and seek" Or "catch and do" games. Where we hide somewhere wanting to be found by our opponents.

I also played the computer game as a child and my favorite part of the game was building bricks carefully. I think I got to a very high level which made it very hard to keep building. Whenever I got back from school, after attempting my assignment, I could just hide somewhere beside the couch and play alone with my computer game, if I wasn't in the mood to run around the compound with my siblings.

Puzzle game is another, it's usually on a very small board, and it requires critical thinking to solve the puzzle and fix the words correctly. I and my cousins took turns to play these games. I think I hated the game at some point because it was quite frustrating.

Whot, is one of my favourite game as it a card game. This particular game is the most versatile of them all, as it could be played in different ways. Either as a pair game or an individual game. I was the master of this particular game and whenever we wanted to play as a team, my siblings always wanted to be on my team.

I also played the suwe game. This particular game is usually done on sand, we draw a box of different numbers and then jump over it with a big stone on our hands.

Like I said, I could go on and on, because these memories are part of my beautiful childhood. I'm glad I wasn't one of the kids that wanted to grow up so badly, I enjoyed my childhood so much and lived one day at a time.

Now, I'm grown and glad I made memories as a child.

It's amazing how the child's imagination could do powerful things! Despite having fewer resources to buy many toys, children manage to invent the most interesting and amusing toys!

I remember my early schooldays where we would play "table football" with 3 small paper balls and 2 pens... lol... The same as you with your cousins, the most important thing was to have fun with your loved ones and your friends...

Water games were another game I played with alongside my cousins.

I had one of those, too! It was a "basketball" game... hehehehe...

Thanks for this post! It brought back some nice memories! ๐Ÿฅ‚
