Trip to Rome, Italy? .:. Road To Hive Fest 2024!
Wait, what? Isn't the #HiveFest this year in Split, Croatia? What the heck are you doing in Italy, Ph? 😃 Well, it looks like getting a direct flight ticket from one place on the seaside to another place on the seaside isn't as easy as it looks... Why would you travel by plane to get from one beach to another? Because of that, I had to book 2 flights to connect my place with Split to get to the HiveFest2024!
So, my first "pit-stop" on my #roadtohivefest was in Italy, from where I'm writing this post! I have never been to Rome airport, but it is huge! But, let's start from the beginning... As you can see on the clock in the left corner, it was almost 6 AM when I arrived at the airport to take a flight to Rome... Unfortunately (or luckily), I had/have a 4-hour layout in Rome until the next flight...
As I had so much time to spend, this time the plane went on time and arrived on time... 🤦 if I had a short connection, it would probably be the other way around... 😂
The flight was pleasant and I even slept a bit, which is very rare for me to happen!!!
While we were close to the landing time, I took a couple of photos of the beautiful Italian landscape!
Landing was great and without issues too, so I proceeded to the airport exploration!
A welcoming message from the airport, just to confirm where we are... 😃
I had to take these two photos as I was just talking about Revolut with my family a few days ago! This had to be a sign! I'm planning to close my last bank account and to open a Revolut account, as they are offering a bank number that I (unfortunately) still need for paying utility bills...
After having breakfast and wandering around the airport, I decided to settle down at one of these Work Stations, to check out emails, messages, and of course HIVE!
This is just another "internal joke"... Whenever I drive through Italy, there are always dozens of roadworks, and the word "lavori" is engraved in my brain... To see a similar message INSIDE the terminal, was instantly funny... hahahahaha
The last three photos are for @mipiano! I know that she would definitely sit in front of that piano and play something... When it is calling visitors to Suonami! 😃

PS. The Internet connection at Rome airport is fantastic! I'm pleasantly surprised!!!

Haha! I was on a break recently and I decided to disconnect from Hive. Always good to take a break at times and focus on other things in life, but after a few days, it just felt so weird. Now I am catching up on the posts one by one!

It feels special to blog about events relating to Hive, especially when it's HIVEFEST. So you're saying it's your first time in Rome?
Yeah, it was... But I stayed at the airport and I didn't go to the city at all... I had to catch the flight to Split, and rather stay and wrote this post... :)
I have only fell asleep on an airplane a few times. Usually on the long 8+ hours one. I did once fall asleep on a military C-130 aircraft and it hit an air pocket that took my breath away. Not a great feeling and I was wide awake after that. Anyways safe travels and have loads of fun at HiveFest 😁
Sorry for the late reply... Yeah, both flights were okay... and luckily, our presentation is over too... So, the rest of the HiveFest will be more pleasant and less stressful... :)
I'll have to check out YouTube and see you in action. I did finally catch up to your last show though. When I use to do presentations I always liked getting them knocked out first.

Yeah, I had a 3-hour between the flights, so I had time to create a post, do some curation, create an Ourpick post... I was productive... :)

These horrible 6am flights 😣😣 I had to get up at 2.30 for mine today.
Revolut just got a banking license so they can offer a lot more services now. I noticed they've started offering swim as well. I tried it for the first time for this trip, it's good value

I use revolut sometimes as a debit card, but not often as I use Chase debit card instead, I get cashback. Haven't used their banking services as it's too much hassle to change banks
