Goblin Caves of Hivesea isn't a mainstream or established Rpg with rulebooks and online forums. It's a brand spanking new Pen & Paper style Rpg that is being made from scratch, with all original concepts and lore! [Or at least uncopyrighted ideas 🀣]. As the dungeon master, I have developed a barebone set of rules and regs I am posting for the first time:

- The main die of the game is the D12. For battles you roll a d12 to attack. 11-12 means a miss. 1-4 means you attack AND use your special ability. [5-10 is a normal attack].

All players stay together. [The company]. Minor side quests only. [No running away].

No one loses gold, even upon death.

No friendly fire. ["Going Rogue"].

Characters are fairly loose, as far as what class you can start out with etc. Advancement is mostly based on buying new items.

Dungeons are based on secret maps and the company votes on directions.

When you die, you must wait until the company finds another graveyard.

Minor side questing, exploration etc. at Dm's discretion. Asking to look around is okay, but don't take over the exposition, dialog and plotline etc.

Goblin Caves Lore

[The following is the established lore thus far. ANYONE can add Goblin Cave lore into this Peakd community https://peakd.com/c/hive-104779/. It will be used at the Dm's discretion. The basic storyline thus far is below. This is what has been published on the blockchain. The rest of the game is on discord. https://discord.gg/dSNssWCCJX.]

[The Goblin Caves of Hivesea started as an unmonetized Lord of the Rings Rpg based in the Mines of moria: Right after the watcher in the water tears down the front entrance and the company, led by Gandalf, forged their way forward through the mines!]

[As we played, we talked about making our own Rpg from scratch ...]

[Eventually, we reformatted the game, changing any character or reference that was copyrighted, like Hobbit. The Mines of Moria became just "caves." I planned an exit route on my secret cave map and BOOM the company found their way out! Suddenly, I found myself writing more lore! We worked out a very simple, but more concrete gaming system, mostly by rolling a D12 die and with voting. The Goblin Caves of Hivesea were born.]

...

All of a sudden, in the midst of battle, the two living Goblins grab the treasure chest and run towards the door! "Ohh hell naw!" says Stink Goblinoid. Everyone runs through the chamber door ahead and all of a sudden everyone is blinded by light. [revved up like a douce another runner in the night]. "What the fuck is going on!" Groaned Dwarfcoine with his hands over his face. Everyone can hear the sounds of seagulls and crows cawing and the rush of the ocean.

"We made it!" Shouts Tiny Blunt. "We made it out of the caves!" Everyone starts cheering and waving their weapons. βš”οΈ πŸͺ“ 🏹 "What be that over yarr" growls Sneakius. Everyone hobbles over quickly and saw the treasure chest lying there, with smelly green Goblin blood all over it. "You open it" said Sneakius to Dwarfcoine. The contents inside in chest glistens in the setting sunlight. πŸͺ™ πŸ’Ž It was gold coins. 700 of them! Everyone got serious at that point and they quietly sat there and divided the gold coins: 100 coins for each adventurer. Then they stood up and milled about. Giantus stretches his giant arms over his head. "Me hungry. stomach mad" Efa the White points into the distance down to the shoreline of the sea. "There is a town down there if you look closely. A very small town." "All in favor of going ...." "EYE!" Everyone shouts and raises their hands. The company began their walk down to the town.

image.png
After you exit your first Goblin cave, you split the gold coins from the treasure box and tuck them into your clothes. The Goblin cave hole you are sitting next to is on the top of a large hillside looking down onto the Ocean Coastline. Large gusts of wind blow through the tall grass. The air smells of fresh sea salt. Seagulls and crows caw in the distance as they fly around. If you look down towards the Sea, you can see a small cluster of buildings surrounded by a large fence.

The Southern Entrance to Seamen Town is open during the day [to all Non-monsters]. The "town" is basically just a large open square that is a grass lawn. The whole town has clearly been flooded before. Everything is raised up on wooden planks and there are barnacles growing everywhere. To the right when you enter is the Wizard Shop. A strange, very tall man with webbed hands runs the Wizard Shop. He has raised garden beds outside his shops, but for some reason, he only grows different kinds of Onions there. The whole town smells of onions because of it.

The Armory is on the left of the wizard Shop. The Armory is run by a very sketchy looking human who looks like a rogue Knight. He has large muscles and often wears full armor. He sometimes even wears a metal helmet over his head. There is also a much more friendly half-Dwarf who works as the head Blacksmith behind the Armory. The knight and half-Dwarf are partners who both own the Armory. The store looks a bit run down and the front area is lit by a few small candles. Non-adventurers would be scared to approach this storefront.

The pub is run by a very spirited little person. He has a small vineyard that is near the Town where he grows hops, apples and grapes. He is also the bartender half the time. There are a few other bartenders. Most everyone in Seamen town drinks, especially the locals. The Seatown Pub also servers some halfway decent food. They have delicious apples year round.

PUB
Apples - 5 gold - +1 health during battle at any time.
Beer - 1 gold - Talk to one of the locals [hint?]

Wizard Shop
Basic Spellbook - 50 gold [Efa the White, Obscurus, Goblinoid, Tiny Blunt]
Shrunken Heads - 10 Gold [Tiny Blunt] +2 against all magic

Armory
Powerful Axe - 9 damage and new special 2 damage extra [Dwarfcoine] 30 gold

Dual daggers - 4 damage with each dagger [8 damage] - roll to miss an extra time - [Sneakius] 25 gold

Giant Gauntlets - 12 damage per attack! [Giantus] 40 gold

Dual Crossbow - 4 damage plus new special move of 4 to a random enemy. 20 gold [El Mufas]

The northern end of the "town" has some unmarked buildings; which are raised up on wooden supports and are right over the Ocean water. These wooden houses are of course living accommodations. Seamen town offers free lodging, in part because the conditions are so horrible. Once this was a real inn, but it shut down years ago because of the excessive saltiness. Now adventurers were encouraged to stay here for free, as long as they spent their spoils from the Goblin Caves on locally brewed beer and Loaves of bread with lavender in it.

There is a "northern exit" of Seamen town which of course just leads to the Ocean. Sometimes, the waterline goes down and there is a nice sandy beachfront. The locals like to hang out on the sand under the wooden houses by the water. Sometimes the waterline drops very low and there is a sandbar that appears, allowing people to walk farther into the ocean. It's called "the sandbar of hope" and it is lucky to walk on according to locals.

On the other side of the coin, during high tide, the waters flow into the town square and turns the grass lawn into mud. When this happens, the locals all wear leather boots and grumble to themselves. Sometimes, a newcomer from the Sea will make the mistake of rowing their boat straight into the town square! This is known as "a floater" and happens at least once a year.

To the right of the Seamen Town is a small but well tended graveyard on top of a hill. There are beautiful stone markers with people names carved into them. There is a nice wooden fence around the graveyard and special flowers growing among the mossy grass. There is a special concrete path going through the graveyard for mourners. The Graveyard is a checkpoint. If the whole adventure company dies, they will restart here.

Sneakius walks up to a strange looking storefront with old armor and weapons nailed onto the wooden exterior. There was no window on this building and when sneakius walked in, he saw that the store was dimly lit with several candle holders. Then he noticed the man at the counter. He was wearing an entire set of knights armor, which inside a shop was very intimidating. Sneakius was a rogue however, and was used to dealing with very sketchy individuals. βš”οΈ "How about them daggers," said Sneakius, pointing towards a shelf with several duel wielding daggers and knives. Above was a sign that said "Rogue special, 2 for the price of 1! Sneakius hurried out of the store and strolls into the Pub, which is next door to the Armory. He sees Dwarfcoine and Giantus Meatshieldius and sits down. "Is there a beer limit here?" Sneakius yells at the Bartender. "Of course not silly man!" says the bartender.

"5 beers please," says Sneakius. A strange looking man with a tall wizards hat and webbed fingers is sitting next to Sneakius. He leans over and whispers "Hey I see you are a rogue. You know there is this guy in town who stole an advanced spell book from me. It is a very rare publication. If you can get the book back without him seeing, I will give your company 50 gold each ..." He looked around to see if anyone was listening. "Plus, this guy has a big row boat tied up by the beach. Big enough to fit your entire company I'd wager. I know you are looking for more Goblin caves. There is another cave quite a few miles from here, but all you have to do is follow the coastline East until you hit a giant curve that goes inland. You literally cannot miss it."

Giantus walks into the bar and sits down next to @DwarfCoine and @Sneakius. The wooden seat creaks and groans under his enormous ass. Sneakius leans in towards the strange man with the webbed hands and wizards hat. "How do I know this whole stolen boat thing isn't a setup. It sound suspect to me ... no offense sir." The man with the webbed hands sighed and reached into his robe. "Fair enough," he said quietly. I will give you something rare as a sign of trust. If you steal that book for me, Ill give you each 100 gold AND I''l give you two of my wooden boats that will hold 5 people each." The wizard pulled a silver egg out of his pocket that was slightly larger than a chicken egg. "This is a Miniature Dragons egg. You aren't strong enough to wield a Miniature Dragon as a pet, but your Drooling half Giant friend could. Take this rare egg and get my book back back for me. I'm not asking anymore I'm begging! Go to the public housing area and find house #3. The sooner the better. You can hatch that egg if you find a hot enough fire. πŸ”₯ πŸ₯š Good luck and don't ask me for back up if anyone sees you, I'm a lover not a fighter."

The {3} Royal guards lay dead upon the floor. "Nice battle folks!" Says the Npc Wizard Shop Owner. "That was my last poison packet though," he mumbles under his breath. He motions to the front door. "we cannot stay here after killing a Royal Guard. Come into my Wizard's Shop." The company runs out of the bar and into the Wizards shop. The back room of the wizard's shop has weird mechanical devices made from metals, eyeballs floating in blue liquid and many jars of pickled onions. "The cost of killing a Royal is death," says the Wizard Shop Owner. "We need to leave the town as soon as possible." He hands Efa The White, Stinky Goblinoid and Tiny Blunt a spell book. "Take these," he says in a hurried tone. He also hands Blunt a shrunken head.

Meanwhile, Giantus Meatshieldius, DwarfCoine Steyamo and TrashyOmen had already whispered to themselves and ran into the emptied out Armory. Trashy threw down his short sword. Time for a real Goblin slicer He picked up a bigger sword and also out on a breastplate. Dwarfcoine picked up a very heavy "Powerful Axe". Giantus put a pair of Giant Gauntlets on his meaty hands and smiled happily. Steyamo unhooked an expensive looking "Dual crossbow" from the wall. "This will do." He smiled an evil grin.

The company quickly met back together on the boardwalk and began to run across the town lawn towards the water. "There is an empty boat!" yells the Wizard Shop Owner. Everyone runs towards the water and they jump onto the sandy beach on the shoreline. All of a sudden, a strange looking man with a mace in his hands popped up from inside his large, wooden boat. "Get away from me boat ye fiends!" The Npc wizard covers his mouth, mumbled a few weird sounding words and all of sudden the man said "Welcome aboard ye ship!", gesturing everyone aboard. "Why should we trust you?" asks Steyamo. The Npc Wizard points back to the town, There are 9 or 10 Royal Knights in the background, quickly running down the way, along with a very angry looking knight who runs the Armory and several other people holding weapons. Dwarfcoine immediately starts to paddle and the boat goes in a circle. Then Stinky starts to paddle followed by the others. Soon the boat is moving at a quick speed and the shoreline begins to get further and further away.

The Players:

Character drawing and description for @dibblers.dabs aka Tiny Blunt.

image.png
Tiny Blunt is a Dark Shaman.

His specialty is poisons. Tiny Blunt is technically a human although he stole a wizards hat and studies potions from stolen books. Tiny Blunt can buy more and more advanced poisons. He uses magic pipes to poison monsters with enchanted smoke. He can hold basic weapons only, until very high levels. Tiny blunt can learn basic magic [only]. He can cast basic spells in combat. He has a small magic bar which doesn't go up. Tiny Blunt can also buy shrunken heads, which protect against magic. No other character can wear shrunken heads.

Tiny Blunt might have weak magic, but He is a well rounded character and deadly in group battles because of his poisoning abilities. At a higher level, Tiny Blunt gets the ability to wield larger weapons and becomes a deadly force. There are rumours that at a VERY high level: Tiny Blunt can actually become rogue class and go invisible and that if he collects enough shrunken heads; he can learn more advanced spells! He can also locate rare herbs etc.

Character drawing and description for @taco-pizza aka Dwarfcoine.

image.png
Dwarfcoine is an axe wielding Dwarf with a specialty in mining rare metals and diamonds. He is a strong Dwarf who can wield most weapons like swords, axes etc. and hold a shield. Dwarfcoine can wear a full suit of armor [except a helmet].This character starts with the strongest type of weapon, but doesn't evolve much by leveling up. Most of his development is dependent on buying better and better axes. At an advanced level he can learn to slash more that one enemy at once. It is rumored that at a very high level, this character can duel wield axes like a super powerful rogue character! Dwarfcoine has face tats from his time mining with Chinese Dwarves. His lust for treasure keeps the company moving forward during tough times.

Character drawing and description for @efastromberg94 aka Efa the White.

image.png
Efa the White crash landed here in the year 869 A.D.

She is an alien grey/human hybrid from a far away planet, similar in structure to Uranus. Back home, Efa was a M.I.L.F which stands for Motherboard Integrated Lethal Fighter but she gave up the ways of the military and was sent in disgrace to Earth where she wore human clothes to blend in and trained in the woods with a powerful white witch in the ways of healing.

Efa the White was granted a staff of beautiful white oak with a large, Rose Quartz crystal embedded into the top of the staff. This Magical Wizards staff can actually illuminate a large circle around Efa in total darkness! Perfect for the adventuring company that is crossing large scale cavernous systems. Efa's special abilities mostly focus around self healing and healing the other team members. However, she can learn some basic attacks for self defense and can attack with her staff. It is rumored that at a higher level, Efa can actually become a rogue and a wizard: Learning more dangerous and sinister forms of magic like telekinetic torture and brainwashing.

Character drawing and description for @fefe99 aka Beacon.

image.png
Character sheet for Beacon/ @fefe99. Beacon is a healer human. Beacon is NOT a β€ŽCleric ... that is a copyrighted Dnd class. 🀣 πŸ˜… Beacon is a human who is slowly learning healing and protective magic, as well as starting his journeys with one of the most powerful one handed weapons, the mace! Rumour is that after reaching higher levels, Beacon becomes more of a forest elemental, becoming so adept at white magic that he can mount exotic animals and even transmogrify into animals like bears! A staff and mace is all this character needs, at least on this Earthly plane! Not only a healer for the group, but also a protector. Later in the game, this character could become more of a tank by mounting large animals and casting.

Character drawing and description for @ecoinstant aka Giantus Meatshieldius.

image.png
Character Sheet for Giantus Meatshieldius/ @ecoinstant. Giantus is currently the only tank character in the company. The only thing uglier than a giant, is a half giant. Meatshieldius is no exception. He is only 10 feet tall, but is extremely muscular. Almost unnaturally beefy. The company keeps him domesticated with constant treats and 3 cent beers, but he never gets fat. Those steeped in Goblin Caves lore will know that giants have strong healing abilities: Giantus is no exception. Ancient texts state that if a half giant drinks a strong enough intelligence potion, they can become human like: Gaining powers to hold large swords and wear specialty armor. They can even ride war elephants! Although those only are for sale in far away lands ...
