2025 ...huhm, see me standing on the edge, ready to dive in. It’s a mix of hope, excitement, nervousness that comes when you know that life is about to shift gears and a new phase is coming in. I just graduated, and honestly, that in itself feels like a miracle and a blessing. Four years of lectures, assignments, tests, exams, stress, allnight, the on and off days and now here I am, holding a degree and stepping into the big, unpredictable world. The next big step? NYSC(National Youth Service Corps) and sincerely, I am a biy terrified.
There this funny thing about being a Nigerian, you grow up hearing various stories about NYSC from older siblings, cousins and random people in the neighborhood, a one-year adventure where you’re sent off to some random state you may never have visited before. I’m imagining dusty roads, the distance, maybe a two days journey, the hostels, the early morning stuffs, including the hyped "mammy market" food. But there’s also the new friendships, new experiences, and a chance to see some part of Nigeria that I have only heard about. What state will I be posted to? Lagos, Osun, Kaduna, or Cross River state. The suspense is killing me, but I kind of welcome it.
Also, 2025 will be one of personal growth, I have lot of big plans, which are not just about aging, I want to learn new skills like coding, graphics and maybe how to play a type of instrument, maybe a guitar or piano. And sincerely have always been curious about a whole lot of things, but along the way, life tend to happen, but not anymore, this is the year I take charge and give no room to fear.
I also plan to be more present on this blog, and explore more on this space to share my thoughts, my little wins, my ups and downs. Writing has always been my thing, and here's a space where I can pour out my thoughts without withhelding anything back. There’s something special about putting words together and writing or creating a story. And then maybe my NYSC adventures will be the perfect content for it. Imagine the various stories like, "How I Survived Camp Food," or "The Friendships That Change Everything." It would definitely make a good and engaging content.
Then again, theres family. They’ve been my rock through the years, cheering me on when I felt like giving up and reminding me that my dreams are valid. I would love to give back in every little way I can starting with little things and not waiting till I accumulate a lot.
And here in Nigeria, no matter what or how tough things seems to be, you still sre young people hustling and thriving, so no matter how hard, tough things get, I won't give up, I will rather push forward, rise up back and keep going.
I hold on to hope that Nigeria can become the place we all want, I believe in small wins adding up. Maybe it starts with me. Maybe it starts with all of us deciding to do a little thing. And can we talk about love for a moment, maybe 2025 is the year I meet someone special. NYSC is known for more than just community service, you know what I mean, I might bump into someone you know.....
Financial freedom is also on my mind, 2025 is no more knocking, its here, coming in slowly, reminding me of my decisions, plans and the need to step out of my comfort zone, to letg go of fear and doubt.
So, let's step into 2025, I know and am very sure it won’t be perfect, off days will definitely comet, thats life though, its not always rosy... And as long as I keep moving forward and hold onto hope, I know and am as well sure that 2025 will be a year to remember. So, to the future, to growth and to making memories that will last..Cheers 2025.....
