Partizan - Vojvodina 18.09.2024

Hello

The Partizan AdmiralBet handball team secured a 30-28 victory against Vojvodina on the road (halftime score: 12-13). After eight years of waiting for a win against the reigning champions in the domestic league, this triumph was made even sweeter by the support of their fans at the away game. Partizan's last victory over Vojvodina was on September 21, 2016, when the scoreboard in Banjica showed 27-26.

In a recent encounter between our team and Novi Sad's Vojvodina in the Serbian Super Cup, Nikola Crnoglavac opened the match with two consecutive goals, giving the black-and-whites an early 2-0 lead from penalty shots. Said Heidarirad provided additional momentum by saving a penalty shot from Đorđić. The game featured intense defensive duels, and the first field goal wasn't scored until the eighth minute when Vojvodina's João Pedro found the net. The home team struggled to counter Partizan's offense, which maintained a two-goal lead and quickly extended it. Crnoglavac was flawless, while Ivan Mićić and Nemanja Ratković played their roles effectively. With the score at 6-9, Boris Rojević called a timeout, sparking his team to narrow the gap to 8-9. Coach Đorđe Ćirković responded with a timeout, and after the brief break, Partizan restored their two-goal lead. In a tense first-half finish, with the score at 11-11, the black-and-whites' coach decided to switch goalkeepers, giving young Nikola Zorić a chance. This proved to be a wise move as Zorić immediately saved a penalty and a follow-up shot, though Vojvodina briefly took the lead at 12-11. However, their only advantage of the match was short-lived, and the halftime score was 12-13.

In the second half, the Partizan AdmiralBet handball players took to the field with even greater confidence. Zorić boosted the team's spirit with his stellar goalkeeping, and Crnoglavac continued his impressive performance from the first half. Miha Kotar and captain Nikola Zečević caused additional problems for the home team's defense, and by the 49th minute, our team had secured a four-goal lead at 21-25. Vojvodina capitalized on Mićić's exclusion towards the end, narrowing the gap to 24-26, but the black-and-whites remained composed and saw the match through, not allowing Novi Sad to deny them two points. Mladen Šotić sealed the victory in the first round of the Super Handball League, while Đorđić only softened the defeat for the home team, bringing the final score to 28-30.

Nikola Crnoglavac was named player of the match, scoring an impressive 14 goals. The next top scorer for the black-and-whites was captain Zečević with 5 goals. Goalkeeper Nikola Zorić finished the match with six saves.

FINAL SCORE: 28:30 (12:13)
