HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS, THIS BEING MY FIRST BLOG THIS YEAR.

It was a match that promised to be a hard fought one between David Moyes(a former Manchester United coach) Everton's coach and his counterpart, Michael Carrick(who is in acting capacity).
Everton has been in good form lately and Manchester United have enjoyed a similar rich vein of form under Carrick. It was indeed such a keenly contested affair this Monday.
You watch Man United in the first half and you wonder what's up with the midfield. It was not the usual fluidity because Everton was playing so well, with good intensity. But I didn't see it as a big problem, as United were not lacking in effort, in endeavour.
I noticed that United came with huge respect for Everton, just the way Chelsea came with big respect for Arsenal in that league Cup 2nd leg.
Is that a bad thing? I think that it's not always bad, respect for your opponents doesn't mean you don't believe in your qualities to be victorious.
As for Everton, it was nice to see how they played such a mature game–pressing, composure on the ball and so on.
At least, United was been defending well and not lacking in endeavour, and with some improvement in their midfield play and most importantly the use of their speed in forward areas, United scored the only goal of the match and held on for a lone goal win I consider impressive.
Let me copy and paste what I said on Carrick somewhere, the moment he was signed for United–
"..Carrick as a player was the English Busquet. That's why I think dey may not need a new coach next season, I think Carrick is a different breed."
Once again,
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
God bless you all.
