Second Season: Praying for a Miracle

I just realized I forgot to use this photo in my post yesterday. It was a really good photo as we were walking into my nieces basketball game and I wanted to share it with you today. This post isn't about basketball though. That's right, it is still football season and though my Fantasy season is all over, I was invited to participate in the "Second Season".

I was talking to my bother in law the other day and I mentioned to him that my fantasy season was absolutely horrible this year. We lamented about all the missed opportunities with our teams and then he mentioned a league he was going to start on the site The Second Season.

Since it is on my side of the family and not @mrsbozz's, it is a fairly small league. There are only five teams participating. There was a bit of a wait period until all of the NFL teams had been set for the playoffs.

The process is pretty simple, there are fourteen teams total with seven in the AFC and seven in the NFC for the playoffs. You can only pick on player from each team, but you have to pick players in the positions as follows:

2 Quarter backs
4 Running backs
4 Wide receivers
2 Tight ends
1 Kicker
1 Defense

The season lasts as long as the playoffs are happening and there were a couple questions you had to answer after submitting your roster for "tie-breaker" purposes.

As each week passes by, two or more teams will be eliminated from the playoffs and your scores will likely drop heading into the next week. Ideally, I probably should have paid attention to which teams I think are going to lose first and picked weaker players on those teams.

For instance, you don't want to pick a QB from a team that you expect is going to get ousted in the first round of the wildcard. Oops!

Honestly, I think this league is mostly for bragging rights and since it is my first time playing this, I am not too worried about how I finish. I basically just went to my Yahoo Sports Fantasy page and went down the line for each position that had the most points in the regular season.

We will see how that works out for me!

Overall, it seems to be a fun activity and it adds a little more life to what was a woefully horrible season for me. Hopefully I can finish a little better in this league than I did in the other one!
