Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 5: Everyone gets lucky once in a while

Winner winner, chicken dinner! I finally got my first win in the family fantasy football league. It's been a long couple of weeks, but I finally was able to remove that giant goose egg from my scoreline. Sure, I'm still only 1-4 on the season, which isn't great at all, but it's better than being 0-5.

Unfortunately, 0-5 is where my sister in law finds herself sitting right now since both her and I had failed to get a single win heading into this past weekend.

Unfortunately, this coming week I have to face off against @mrsbozz who wasn't lucky enough to win this past weekend. That means we are both sitting at 1-4 on the season and after this coming week one of us is going to be at an even bigger deficit.

If I'm being honest, I hope my wife wins this weekend. I think we can all understand why it is just easier that way. She is already a bit frustrated with her team even though she said she didn't care this season. She is just too competitive to let it go.

I can't blame her.

As you can see, I was projected to lose this past weekend. I was only supposed to score something like 90 points, but my team showed up and I was able to squeeze out 110 (almost 111) points. My sister in law actually didn't fall too short of her goal. It's just that I scored 20 more points than I was supposed to.

I was actually feeling really good heading into this past weekend. I dropped a lot of dead weight on my team and I picked up some players that I thought would fit better. I also had a surprise drop when I didn't realize Tennessee had a bye last weekend.

I had to pick up the Bears defense and as you will see it turned out okay for me.

Once again, one of the biggest weak points on my team this past weekend was Allen. Sure, he got hurt, but the past two weeks he hasn't been putting up the same numbers he was at the beginning of the season. I think that is a bit concerning for me. It may be a moot point if Allen ends up going into concussion protocol, but one or two more games under 15 points and I might be forced to go with Goff.

Metcalf had a pretty weak week and I expect a lot more from him. Less than five points is quite abysmal. He needs to do a lot better than that this coming week. Coleman with 10 points isn't bad considering his feeder Allen wasn't doing so hot. I am not mad about that score. Sure, 15+ points is better, but 10 is acceptable. Thomas was the big winner on my team netting me 18 points along with my recent addition Swift. I honestly can't believe Swift was available to pick up.

Sure, he might just be on a streak, but I will take it! Conner at 12 points is not too shabby either. Again, I would prefer to see 15+ points with wide receivers and running backs, but averages are acceptable. I'm not sure what is up with Benson. I am going to have to take a long look at him before this coming weekend.

Bowers with 15 points is just about perfect. I can't argue or complain about that at all. Finally, McPherson had a lackluster week kicking zero field goals in the game against Baltimore.

Chicago's defense putting up 14 points was the clincher for me.

As you can see, Pierce was a sleeper for me on the bench. I am definitely going to be looking at giving him a chance in my roster. Goff was on bye, so I couldn't have even leaned on him to replace Allen. This week will be different. My sister in law might have been able to squeak out a little more score-wise from her backup quarterback, but it still wouldn't have been enough to push her over the top.

It's going to be a contentious weekend facing off against @mrsbozz. Wish me luck!

You had me with the picture of the wings. That looks like an entire roll of paper towels would be necessary.

They were so good. It's from this place in Columbus, OH that many consider to be the best wings in town. Plus, for an hour every day you can get beer for $1. People usually order two at a time!
