Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 14: OUCH!

I wish I had some good news for you, I wish I really did, but much like the photo above from a messy trip I took back in 2019, this past weekend was an absolute train wreck for my fantasy football team. What should have been a hell of a week for me turned into an absolute dumpster fire.

Once again, if I had been playing five other teams in the league, my score would have easily beat theirs. It's just a long run of bad luck that put me against my nephew this particular weekend. Sadly (or thankfully), this was the final week of the regular season in our fantasy league and with only two wins on the season, I am squarely in the consolation bracket. In fact, I have to play @mrsbozz this coming week. How much you want to bet I am actually going to win that game? At this point, I don't think either one of us really cares.

115 is not a bad score. Like I said, most any other week an that probably would have given me the win. In fact, I just went back and looked and in 50% of the games played this season, a score of 115 would have given me the win. I should point out though that 115 was the highest score I achieved of any week this season.

I think most of all, I'm just embarrassed. As I have said before, it's not like I am new to this, it's not like I am just guessing at it either. I know my stuff when it comes to football. At least I thought I did. It just feels like I have some perpetual bad luck when it comes to the fantasy realm.

As you can see, my nephew blew me out of the water with 143 points. That win earns him a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Allen had a monster weekend for me at QB. In fact, he had a monster weekend for himself at QB. I think he broke at least one or two records in his game against the Rams. Unfortunately, they fell short and my nephew had Nacua on his team who scored close to 30 points. The fact that the game became a shootout worked to both our advantages and disadvantages.

I honestly might have had a chance if he didn't have Pua on his team. Darnold had a pretty massive game with the Vikings too though, and that didn't help me at all.

Metcalf is a piece of crap, I don't care what anyone says. He couldn't even score 5 points. I should have dropped him long ago. The problem is, there weren't any decent players available to replace him with.

Legette was a late season pick up for me and proof that there just weren't any good players to be had on the waivers or as a free agent. How sad is it when your best option can only score 4 points in a game.

Moore was another disappointment this past weekend. I really expected better from him. Even Swift was a great big pile of suck. The Bears have really went down the tubes after a couple of good weeks there. Take a look at my defense. -1 points is absolutely horrible.

Conner was one of three players that actually did something this week. Along with Wright at kicker. 16 points for a kicker is absolute beast mode! Bowers and Thomas were also pretty disappointing.

As I said, I plan on making some big changes to the rules next year for the league. People better be ready. I will cover those changes in a future post.

As you can see, I cleared my bench a week or so ago, so they would have been zero help to me. I really hate that things turned out this way. I feel like every year I want to be excited for my team and then every year I am met with tremendous disappointment.

You didn't hear this from me, but I am secretly hoping that my niece wins it all this year. She is 9 and 5 on the season and has made some good moves recently with her team that should give her a good shot. Right now she is projected to lose, but I hope she can run through the bracket like a champ.

We've been doing this for close to a decade now. It's hard to believe. Here's hoping that year 11 turns out better for me than year 10.
