I only played Dark Souls 1 I think. It weird that I did not enjoy it more because dark souls games are based on my favorite fantasy books Berserk. But I really disliked the respawning enemies. Still going around and slaying everything while swinging a huge sword was fun.

Also it is nice that you can say about this game the same thing I think about Witcher games and Dragon age Origins:

is a work of art.

Dark Souls 1 is largely considered the best of the series, I really preferred Dark Souls 3 it was just more polished. Dark Souls 2 was awful, it was done by their B team. The respawning is annoying but that's the charm of the game. It is meant to be hard and unforgiving. Witcher 3 was amazing. Even 2 was great.

for me even Witcher 1 is amazing even if it has not aged as well as the other 2. If you have not played Dragon age Origins I highly recommend it. The two sequels are fairly good as well.( I pretend that veilguard doesn't exist and story ended with inquisition...)
