Year of the blob takes us back to a decade ago, in 2014 when a major heatwave named "The Blob" appeared in the Pacific Ocean, I would believe it would be the first in that time.
As we would have known by the now, anything that is in the extreme is always not something too good to have, extreme heat in the coast likewise have caused significant damage to our marine ecosystem with large amount of sea birds and sea lion die offs and also the growth of toxic algae and huge disruption to the fishing industry, in a sense impacting the livelihood of our fishermen and also causing a disruption of our food chain.
With this episode, it has also dropped a significant warning to us Human the need to start preserving our environment and also the significant damage that can result from our manufacturing activities and non-green lifestyles and it needs big action to start reducing the damage we have caused over many decades.
Year by year, we are seeing record heat waves and feeling the heat by seeing new highest temperatures recorded in different parts of the world by various Metro services.
We do not need another Year of the Blob to remind us of that anymore, do we?
