Slot machines, as many usually says it, it’s a game of luck, you vs the owner, it’s a good way to kill time and as nowadays the winnings are not falling out giving you the adrenaline rush. But it’s actually a game of probability and the odds are definitely stacked against the players.

This reminds me of our working environment is also a game of slot, let me explain:
It’s a game between you and your boss, you the player, he the owner
The slot machine is any proposal you brings to him.
Whether he approves it is a game of luck though you have done your studies (probability should be good thus we propose)

The way I see it is simple, so long you do not have the decision authority, the odds are against you, and if you gave up after multiple tries, the next one who try again might get the approval, like how one keep losing at a mavhine, next guy might just hit the jackpot after you.
