John entered the office determined, as he is set to give Jack his supervisor a surprise that will shock him.

John has taken a day of leave from work the day earlier to actually went down to the competitor of his current employer to sign his letter of employment that will appoint him as the Senior Manager of Regional Sales. The position that was given to Jack when they both applied for the position 3 months back.

Not having the position was still okay for John, but the last straw came when John is made to report to Jack after Jack was promoted was something he cannot accept. They both enter the company together as rookie fresh out from school, and were relatively comparable in term of performance till this latest round when Jack outperform.

Thus John has decided to shock him when Jack thought he could boss him around, he resigned and join his fiercest competitior.
