Good morning all, doing my 5 minutes free writing with prompt - An Ugly Truck. Hope you enjoy the story.
Victor unwillingly gets onto his dad's "ugly truck" as his dad happily wants to take him to school today. Unappreciative, Victor feels that the truck his dad is driving now is too ugly for him and he is worry that he will become the joke of the day among his friend should they see him coming to school in it.
He has forgotten it is this very "ugly truck" that enables him to be able to go to school as his father has worked very hard as a truck driver going around fulfilling deliveries orders for years before saving enough to get his very own truck to be able to earn more and not having to take a cut out of the profit to pay rent.
This is that "An ugly truck" that puts food on the table, pays for his school fee. If it has a voice now, it would be weeping his heart out now to know that Victor hates to take a ride in it now so much.
All Victor's dad wanted was some time alone with the son as he's always busy driving and thus hardly had time for the family and hopefully by doing so maintains the dad-son bonding.
