Thanks for your reply. I was also confused at first because it's been a while since looking at PsyberX in depth. I said "person working for a person" in the above comment which could get skimmed over easily. I still stand by my point about complicity though. Promoting something that turns out to be a scam, when there is plenty of strong hints that it is, is complicity in that scam. Like anyone promoting ponzis like Bitconnect, etc.
You put PsyberX as "a surface level dream project where Hive is funding a dude's college ambition to create a halo game" very well. It seems clear enough to me that after his failure-to-launch Kickstarter campaign, Justin went looking for a community of suckers with magic internet money to fund him and found Hive. Starting with the LVL token with promises of NFT distribution, and then direct NFT sales. Almost everything is about selling them and while there is some "gameplay" or at least in-engine videos being presented, none of it looks like it's in any state to be released as a game worth playing within any reasonable timeframe.
I had no idea that NFTs on other networks were being sold. That sure doesn't increase my desire to do anything but downvote their posts and call it a value-draining scam for Hive. Even having said that, if a playable game was released and it was still Hive-based I would buy at least $100 worth of their NFTs. I want to be proven wrong about this. But I won't say nothing when there are so many hallmarks of a charlatan that we've all seen before.
Just like this post was an overreaction, my response to Troy's comment that he deleted after he left it was also out of scale, although on a high level I really don't think Hive should be distributing rewards out to a value-sucking scheme, if that's what PsyberX turns out to be. And based on almost a decade in the crypto world, it's reminiscent of schemes I've seen many times before.
You are right about a lot of what you said here.
It is funny because Troy and I from Las Vegas and worked in the IATSE union local out there both for 20 years or so. He is a bit more vocal than I but both of us are quick to call out shady moves and be quite vocal when scams are emerging in real life.
Troy is known to shoot first and ask questions later. Funny story... One time Troy was at the Union hall when a set of new golf clubs was mailed to our business rep by an employer. Troy happened to be there. He went on facebook and onsite telling the members about how the employer was buying off our BR with golf clubs. Turned out the golf clubs were just being returned after a typical business meeting involving golf. That was one of the few times Troy was wrong calling out our elected officials. I watched him do a lot for our members as well as just helping others out like myself by allowing my kids and myself live rent free in his house for 3 years.
Troy and I got into a few arguments over psyberx and stopped talking for months because of it. A lot of it is because of what you mentioned here...
Troy has some valid points in response to what you mentioned above that I brought to his attention last year. There is actually a whole damn list of grievances I have with psyberx on top of what you mentioned... like why not have a linkedin, have a more clear list of former clients, be more transparent in employee costs esp for determining how the hive is cashed out from lvl market. But people like Bobthebuilder and co will be like gezz this guy can not stop can he?
Troy had a point though... He was like listen: I want to give this guy (Justin/ Jboss) a chance. He said he wants to do an ambitious game and it will take a year. Troy said he wanted to take a risk and be apart of something potentially big. Also said he wants to develop a game of his own with his kids in vegas and the Philippines. If it all goes well then he can live with his wife and kids in the Philippines.
With devs like klye and bala as well as community leaders like Engine I think there is good promise.
So I get it. I respect it. Times are stressful. We all need to work more each and every year for less. Troy really is a good dude just taking a risk with lvl and trying to do his part to help it succeed. Being a Navy vet, 20+ year union member and a west coast Yankee doodle he can come off a certain way with just text as a form of communication.
Yeah, it wasnt anything major just exclusive game demo access on avax😅... But seriously the fact that you would support the game if it went live and worked is my point too. Hive is an amazing tight knit community. We support each other even when we are not. Hive is so special to me in so many ways. I just want the community's investment to not be wasted or taken advantage of and Troy is trying his hardest to make sure psyberx stays honest but he can only do so much as a simple investor and promoter that works for peanuts if not free.
Hey I was checking out my witnesses the other day and you were missing blocks so I went with someone live. Are you you good now? Perhaps it was the whole hf testing...

I have asked that you do a bit more research before calling it a scam, the downvotes I have over reacted to in the past and am not so worried about them as it is your right to correct payouts yet the claims of scam are unfounded.
If this ambitious project were scamming they would have taken my advice of launching expansion packs, skins, wearables and more selling NFTs all over to gain much more revenue and increase the development team to rush things along.
They did not want to release more NFTs and the Myria ETH L2 launch of Silver & Gold passes sold are just Hive assets packaged, nothing more or in addition to just selling land plots and psybercrates they must create a Hive wallet to obtain until the omni-chain work is completed.
The bridge to Avalanche is down for maintenance yet was launched and has operated flawlessly for several months proving they are developing things for the chain and its omni-chain solutions.
Imagine if you will comparing to Splinterlands who pushes land development back further and further and launches more expansion packs (millions of them) then more expansion packs and then even more for new tower defense game.
I am not calling SL a scam at all, just the fact we announced a tower defense game before them in our plans yet utilizing the same NFTs in 4 games, not launching expansion packs to raise funds for them until they are playable and needed.
There is also the governance token they could have launched to raise / grab more money yet refuse to until game is playable with more holding assets so when distributed it is more widely passed out as all LVL holders get a 1 to 1 drop of this token, so dropped to the early Hive investors.
Yes we knew about the failed Kickstarter and looked up the studio with a few cheesy google play store app games yet the plan of involving the founders in decision making along with no huge team to soak up most of the profits the game is designed to be player owned and driven economy making my gamble in this project worth it to me.
I have dozens of posts early on where I stated come win assets helping onboard to Hive bringing gamers and investors, do not invest.
I was the 2nd channel in cryptoshots called #dynamicrypto on their server giving them all the help I could yet one day asking if you held assets in their game being the motivation behind your early scam claims and downvotes got them to side with you and boot me from their server, so now I still tell people go pew pew & earn there just not as aggressively as I used to.
They were bullied off Hive and built on Wax then came back, with a game and you can ask their founder about this fact, so being so defensive was to prevent such things from being considered as other chains offer funding and development help to move to their chains. The studio has declined all these offers and only partnered with those willing to omni-chain with Hive.
Offering the Hive assets through their markets via White List Passes to let them gain a % for partnering as well as launch the game on their platforms for the phase 2 open world RPG game that is very ambitious yet also open about it taking several years, a few if we are lucky with some awesome developers.
I found one of the most decentralized projects thanks to Taelor (@dynamicgreentk) where he could have launched the token at inflated rates while releasing very little at a time like many Hive projects do while also having much more than 500 million total max supply yet I see many reasons to prove it is not a scam which is why I have invested so heavily.
I found the owner, his address and many of us know alot about them yet still taking the gamble, certainly any game before launch is a gamble to invest in yet with several Hive witnesses now onboard helping to develop more games only leads me to invest more and push harder as other games push rewards up to the top 1% of holders this one will be skill based without requiring huge stakes to get into the huge tournaments meant to take Hive to new heights, this is why I take this gamble for Hive bringing massive multiplayer gaming here.
