I kind of follow a mixed approach. There are few societal rules, which I believe, meant to be followed. Others can be broken without a single care. And, it does not matter, if they start considering me as a delinquent. Those few rules are civic sense related, so nothing special.
Moreover, the region, I am coming from is more like a blind follower of literally everything - whether, it is religion or self-implicted societal norms, there is absurd reasoning for everything. But, with the generational shift, I am seeing a great change. The urge for the logical reasoning and asking for reference is creating a wave of people who think.
As an example, every year, in Pakistan, Mehran (Sindh) Student Council arrange a Holi event in our university. The cultural norms are against it. But, a collectiveful of young people do not care about cultural nuances. Soon, this will be the new culture, and a new social world will start to exist.
To end this, Voltaire said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Saying equals doing for me.
