It’s Sunday-my favorite day!
Finally, I get to spend my time away from the computer, free from hours of work or endless household chores. It’s been two weeks since I last went to church because I was admitted to the hospital due to illness. The first thing that always comes to mind whenever I’m about to be discharged is attending church, and I’m so glad I was able to do that today.
Here’s how I spent my Sunday:
I woke up early, as I always do, since church starts at 9:00 a.m. and I still have to get my child ready. Usually, we go together as a family, but today my husband was busy finishing some work reports, so it was just me and my little one.
We arrived a bit late, but thankfully, we were still able to join the first part of the service. Today’s message from God really touched my heart, and I pray for His help to apply and share it with others. The service lasted for two hours before it ended.
We were about to head straight home, but I remembered that my child’s teacher had reminded all parents in our groupchat to cover the book she gave us last Friday and return it by Monday. So, instead of going home, I thought of dropping by some stores to buy a book cover and other needed supplies.
However, it was already close to noon, and I realized we’d be hungry if we kept looking for stores first. So, I decided we should have lunch before running errands. Of course, as always, we went to our favorite spot-the famous food chain here in the Philippines, Jollibee.
I ordered my usual burger steak, while my son had a burger and fries-he wasn’t in the mood for rice today.
After lunch, I remembered I also needed to go to the pawnshop where I had pawned a jewelry set. Unfortunately, I had lost the contract slip they gave me. I asked the staff what to do about it, and they explained the process. It’s going to be a hassle, and I was disappointed in myself for misplacing it.
Next, we went to a store to look for the book cover. They were already sold out, so we ended up buying a toy for my son instead-he had been holding it with his puppy eyes and even went ahead to the cashier. I also bought a new phone charger for my husband since he had been complaining that his was already damaged.
We then proceeded to the second store, where thankfully, they had the book cover. The saleslady told me it was upstairs, so I went up and asked other staff along the way.
To my surprise, it was actually on the 4th floor! They didn’t have an elevator, so we had to climb the stairs slowly. I was worried my asthma might act up since I had just been hospitalized for it last week, but thankfully, I made it without losing my breath.
Finally, I got the book cover-just one meter, since I only needed to cover two books. While the saleslady was preparing it, I looked around and took some photos. My son, meanwhile, wandered into the kids’ section and started asking for a bike again. He has been wanting one for a while, but I told him no-it’s dangerous for him at his age and also out of our budget.
We went back down the four flights of stairs to pay for our items,
then headed straight home.
Once there, I immediately covered the books so they’d be ready for the teacher to check tomorrow.
Here's all I bought and my happy son with his toy😁
That’s all for today, thanks for reading!
