RE: Cycling through the green heart + cycling stats update

(edited)

I really like Garmin Connect, The Garmin was pretty expensive to buy but I enjoy it every week. We really are privileged with these roads, @nanixxx mentions the bad roads a lot and I see a lot of Brits as well, saying the roads are horrible and they have a lot of punctures because of it.

Not to jynx it but with commuting and all, do you have many punctures on a yearly basis?
I had one in the first weeks when I started and so far it's been the only one in 4000km

I use Strava more for tracking my progress than Garmin connect, I like it that it also tracks records on segments to fight my own times.

I'll be in Germany for a short holiday soon, there's some elevation there so I turned on the Climb Pro on my Garmin to see how this works and hopefully I have more elevation this summer in France (around Tours)

The badges on Garmin are cooler tho 🙂 I like the names and colors

My Garmin is one of the best cycling gadgets I've bought, but indeed quite expensive. I'm a very bad navigator. I can get lost in my own neighborhood, so it really helps me find my way.
Climb pro is perfect too! I've used it a lot when cycling in the mountains. Do check before which info you want to see in the dashboards because you don't want to change that during your climb. It's cool that you can see the gradient in colors, the percentage, meters of elevation (both ahead and done).

Where do you go in Germany? I might have some tips for you. I've been cycling around Monschau, Winterberg and the Eiffel region.

Tours is beautiful too! Not a lot of climbing, but cycling along the Loire is beautiful. Last year we stayed around Blois (which is a lovely city to visit by the way).

Here are two posts from then:
