Yes I was a bit afraid of what creatures I might see. Especially tarantulas, I just hate spiders so much! I don’t know what I would have done if I saw one. Probably run away screaming at the top of my lungs like a little girl haha. Its all good though, thankfully I didn’t come across anything too creepy.
At this ranch they had two private cenotes, one of them in a cave and the other was open. We started off the trip with some snacks and drinks that the owner had set up for us. It was so nice to just sit and have a drink with all this beautiful nature surrounding us. It just felt cleansing for your soul.
After we all had a drink and got ready for swimming, we headed out to the open cenote, which was just a short walk through the jungle. We spent about 1 hour at this cenote jumping from the side rocks into the water and swimming around. Jumping from the rocks was so fun and refreshing after walking in the heat!
We then headed back to have a bbq that the owner was preparing for us, a few drinks and just have a good time. After our feast we were informed of a few safety tips and how to use the torch, and headed out to the second cenote! I gotta say even though it was really fun jumping into the first cenote, I was most excited for this one as it just felt mysterious and more adventurous.
The water was a bit cold but once I was in I got use to it fast enough. We got lead through the caves, some parts so narrow from the ground to the stalactite ceiling that we had to swim through this small opening and take care to not put our head up too high. The owners dogs came with us, it was nice to see the freedom his animals had to enjoy the jungle and caves.
We were lead through a few parts of the cave and then came to a big open cave full of beautiful clear water. There was a small hole in the top to let some natural light in, but still this wasn’t bright enough for us not to use our torches. The guy showing us around threw one of the torches on the ground of this cave and it lit up the crystal clear water to this neon looking blue. It was so beautiful and surreal! I felt so lucky and grateful to be experiencing something so special, nature in its purest form.
We swam around in this section of the cave for a while enjoying the peacefulness and then moved on through the rest of the cave. It looped us back around to where we entered. We went back to the house changed in to dry clothes, then went to climb up his lookout tower. Once at the top we had a beautiful view of the surrounding jungle.
Ended the day with some more drinks , snacks and music , just chilled out and had fun.
It was such a special trip and I couldn’t have spent it with better people. This trip made me want to work on being closer to nature and be more grateful for the nature all around us, of course without it we wouldn’t be here.

Thank you :)It was a great day!
I would be too scared to go down into the caves! I saw there are quite a few of these old type caves in Mexico, I didn't expect that tbh. Have a great weekend.
It's so worth it though! Im just glad i didn’t see a huge spider, then i would have left asap. Mexico has very beautiful places.
That sounds like a very fun day, drinks, swimming, caves, food, music, good people, good times! Living vicariously through stories like these.
Yes it was great fun!

And so great that you didn't run from the huge cave spiders there!
I was afraid when I saw them LOL. But kept my cool hehe.
I didn't run because i didn't see them😅 , maybe that's for the best though as if i seen the huge one you said was on the ceiling. I would have FREAKED out for sure!
