“No man ever steps in the same river twice,
for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
— Heraclitus, Greek philosopher, 535–475 B.C.

This hour, BTC continues to set new All Time High prices. I find myself looking for quotes to calm my anxiousness, over what has been done. Over the battles that have been won, and lost. The vessel of my life, tossed, in the sea of uncertainty. The doubts of others, the fears of most. The hopes and dreams we painted on the canvas of our minds, which haunt us now as 'what if?' what ifs.

All we can do is what we can do, and what we can do is enough. If we could have done more, we would have. And then, what calamity would be wrought with the success we might have held in our hands? What losses we have suffered have been tempered by the fates who certainly have protected us from the disasters that could also have been. We learn and we live, and that is success.
We are a civilization of survivors, and no matter where you are, the fact that you can read this is proof that you too, are a survivor. A champion, a winner, a seer of destiny. So what, we have been right? So what, we have a little wealth? So what, we think we are so smart that we can wallow in despair of all the things we 'could have' done? I laugh and remember that chef, Gino D'Acampo who said "If my Grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike".
It is no great thing to see the storm approaching on the horizon. To be in the midst of it, and perish is a loss. Those who can wake the next morning to the calm sea, live another day. The sorrow is heavy, for those who shout and try to warn the sleeping villagers of danger approaching. To hope for their safety, and yet powerless against the elements. I warned, shouting into the void.
FLOOD ALERT FOR KERVILLE-- alas, flooding claimed the lives of countless men, woman and children. FIRES-- yet they ravage the forests. My friends, survived another day. They were in the middle of it, but what can they do but avoid the path of destruction. The sorrow, the pain, the loss.
We are survivors, and thriving is just a magic trick. Sure, if we all knew what we know now, we could have, should have, would have, might have... been tossed, in the ocean. Lost, at sea. Burnt up, by the fires. Carried away, by the winds. Yet, despite all the choices, we did the best we could.
“It is a painful thing to look at your own trouble
and know that you yourself and no one else has made it.”
— Sophocles, Greek playwright, 497–406 B.C.

What can we learn from this?
How much BTC do you need in order
to benefit from another 10x rise?
Sometimes the biggest risk, is not taking one that is big enough.
And for what? I always thought it might be foolish, to sell your house for BTC. However those brave pioneers in the long run turned out to be wise, and how foolish they seemed even to me. In the long run, we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is a habit, not an act. Even if selling your house for Bitcoin was a clever move, what other unknowns remained that might have undone it?
What I am trying to say here, in so many words, is that no matter where you are or what you are experiencing, it will be ok. You are surviving, and thriving is an illusion. So what if you have BTC if your friends and loved ones have left you? So what if you don't have much BTC, but you still have your family and some friends? See it on the other side and don't let the sadness carry you away.
Countless lives have been lost on the path, but we are still here. And I am grateful that we can live to write about these things, the good and the bad. The sorrow, and the songs of glory.
It can be too easy to forget all that we have won, and all that we have learned, when we are hanging on to false ideas and false dreams and ideas that might have, like a broken door life-raft, carried us through calamity to safety. But the storm never ends, life goes around and around. We have to let go of the ruins of the past, even those things that saved us and helped us survive the floods and fires.
“Sometimes even to live is an act of courage.”
— Seneca, Roman Stoic philosopher, 4 B.C.–65 A.D.
Each day is a new day, and opportunities are everywhere. To find compassion, and offer insight, and choose kindness, for the suffering others are experiencing. The gap between those who have and those who have not has grown so much, you don't have to look far to see the evidence of it, and those in the struggle of it. Nor far to see the absurdity of the wealthy, who know not what to do with their success. Hoarding their treasure for another day, some perhaps. Others who hard earned their wealth, weathering the storm, who sailed for safety and secured their wins, should not be envied.
Every man has their own journey, every woman too. Do not compare your life to others. You matter, you have value in this world, and only you can be there for those in your life. Remember the real things. And always buy more Bitcoin, if you can afford to lose it. In the long term, the things you do consistently, even failures overcome, will be the stepping stones for your success.
It's not over yet, and the storms return. Prepare, prepare.
“Happiness and freedom begin with one principle.
Some things are within your control, and some are not.”
— Epictetus, Stoic philosopher, 55–155 A.D.
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
— Lao-Tzu
“Apply yourself both now and in the next life. Without effort, you cannot be prosperous. Though the land be good, you cannot have an abundant crop without cultivation.”
— Plato, Greek philosopher, 424–348 B.C.
