Anime to watch with friends and family /s

/s indicates sarcasm.

From the series of good horror anime, I present you the good anime to watch with friends and family, very bright, very light, amusing and entertaining cuteness. Great to see in that family dinner around the TV at a summer night. So without further due, let me introduce you to the girls:

  • Gakkou Gurashi! – I gotta add this one cause: One, it’s a bit of psychological horror, Two, I’m personally scared of zombies. So basically, a bunch of girls are starting their school life, they make a club together and you see the story from the perspective of this pink haired cheerful girl called Sakura. She is all cute, happy and energetic and want to have the best years of her life together with her friends, that is until the thing happens, but Sakura doesn’t acknowledge that, I mean, what happened? What are you talking about? We’re just girls in a club, there’s nothing wrong here, that isn’t blood, no, my classmates are not trying to eat me, ew, gross. I gotta do the club activities now, Bye.

  • Happy Sugar Life – This is for those who enjoy yandere media but could be enjoyed by horror folks as well, just two girls, a kid and a teenager, living their best lives in their little apartment, everything is okay, right? It’s nothing gruesome, nothing bittersweet, no blur or cracks in their perfect castle, just pure not sour love. A happy sugar life, it’s a great show to watch with family and friends my comrades! very sweet, very demure.

  • Puella Magi Madoka Magica – This one has everything, and I mean everything. Manga, Anime, Movies, Special Episodes, Sequels, Side stories, Events, Great songs possibly made at an Opera Theater and amazing art devices employed in the most clever way to scare you, how could you make me scared of drawings and flower collages with disturbing song, some weird unknown situation and witches??? I’ve watched this as a kid and it left a huge impression on me, not only the dangers presented but the relationships of the girls in it, it’s cute, wholesome and definitely doesn’t prepare you for what is coming. Specially by episode 4 of the anime. Just watch. Go. Now. It’s a Classic.

  • Mahou Shoujo Site – Disclaimer, this has some animal abuse, I personally don’t like it but it’s also a good horror so I had to put it in. It uses that concept of cute things between rotten setups. Society here is rotten, deranged, and the girls have a choice, a promise in a website to solve all of their problems and become magical girls.

  • Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song – as per tradition, another baddass cyberpunk, although not as horrifying as the previous recommendations, it’s has it’s body count along with cuteness from our great Vivy. And how is it not terrifying? With the current state of artificial technology, robots and AI companions, it makes sense to have a piece to discuss it, even though the AI here are scary sometimes, some are wholesome too. It’s also very action based and cool enough. One could say, this has a bit of tragic optimism too as stated firstly by the psychologist Viktor Frankl, a survivor of the holocaust. Tragic optimism posits there is hope and meaning to be found in life while also acknowledging the existence of loss, pain and suffering. And that is all I have to say. Bye bye.
