A few years back we purchased half a cow and filled our chest freezer with meat. The butcher asked if we wanted the scraps for free and we said yes! We put them in the crock pot, melted it all down, strained it and put them in mason jars. We have been enjoying many jars of beef tallow, even now years later! It was well worth the effort.
