Is Free AI video generation finally good enough for creators?
I have been asked quite often if I knew any free AI video generation models. Almost always I said no because the ones that I knew were simply not of sufficient quality to work with. The AI world however is evolving like no other sector. I've tested two free video models: Meta AI and Grok AI

- Image-to-video performance
- Physics and motion accuracy
- Identity consistency (identity drift)
- Video resolution & upscaling
- Audio and voice generation
- Video length extension workflows
- Style handling (anime & non-human worlds)
- Text animation quality
My verdict
Even if both models are maybe not as strong as the current market leader (veo 3.1 or kling 2.6) they actually do a surprisingly good job. Both models are free to use with a certain daily usage limitation. If you want to learn how to use AI video generation, they are definitely a great place to do your first steps. In the video, I share some tips how to use these platforms best.

I think your approach to working with AI is excellent, and the video turned out quite well. I have worked with some AI programs and have not had results as good as these.
For a long time free video generation models were not producing anything usable. I believe that this looks already quite nice for some examples.
Although I do some video editing, I haven't decided to use it regularly yet. I use Grok regularly, but I haven't made any videos with it yet. Since I don't have a Facebook account, I haven't tried this from Meta. But all this looks good. Thanks for sharing the experience.
Grok video generation is quite powerful to say that it's free to use. I was positively surprised!
Definitely so for the casual creators. It's still not quite at the level of those pros yet, but I believe it's all a matter of time.
Definitely, there are new models poping up on a weekly basis and they get better and better. I think it will get more powerful and also cheaper in general.
I am a Google Pro subsciber but Veo vids were not available in the UK, so I stopped looking at them. Now there is Veo 3.1 I might see if it lets us use in the UK, away to look at yours now ...
Veo 3.1 is very powerful. I couldn't access it either. But now through platforms like open art, it's possible to access almost all models as soon as they get out, even if they are not available in our countries.
