The extra hours that teachers work at home—whether grading exams or planning upcoming lessons—should be recognized. Here in Venezuela, unfortunately, it is the lowest-paid profession, which forces teachers to sell sweets, bake cakes to order, or take on whatever odd jobs they can find just to survive.
I felt so sad reading about the situation of teachers there, but as you know, we also consider it the lowest-paid profession here in the Philippines. Luxembourg is the country where teachers receive the highest salaries in the world, with starting pay approaching $100,000 per year and top-tier salaries exceeding $170,000
