Enjoying the Sight of Pretty Bougainvilleas

Bougainvillea flowers had a huge significant to me: when I was still a young girl, about 4-5 years old, we moved to a new home and my mother had brought her bougainvillea flowers with her. When my oldest sister got married, I was one of the flower girls and we used bougainvillea flowers and more to throw on the aisle before the bride marches. The night before her wedding, I was the one who harvested the flowers, ready for the next day.

Upon knowing my amazement to the said flower, my husband told me stories about their gigantic bougainvillea plant that almost does not run out of blooms. It hid the entrance to their house and they had many memories with it. Too bad after his sister left to many her boyfriend, the flower slowly died and was gone forever.

I always adore bougainvillea flowers; they need almost no-maintenance when planted outdoors and they bloom with no effort. Also, their blooms lasts for weeks or even months.

One lovely weekend, we went to the farm at 10 am and decided to cook food there yet we forgot to bring a lighter to start a fire and so we went to an old friend's house to buy but they gave us one instead. Uncle Kardo is such a good guy and he treats us like his own kids as well.

On their yard this pretty bougainvillea plant grew and bloomed; I was amazed to see such a rare shade of flower; it was orangey and reddish at the same time ad yet my camera just cannot capture its real color maybe because of too much brightness of the sun.

The flowers are really pretty!

While my husband and our friend talked, I and my son took photos with the pretty flowers; perhaps I should make it a habit to include my selfies on my photo collection one day.

We did not stay long in their house and went back to ours to cook food after. It was a wonderful visit we did, checking on our old friend, catching opportunities and beholding wonderful things.

I asked for some branches so I could plant them at home but I forgot about it and left on the farm. The next visit we had, the branches dried and died. It was so sad ad honestly, I had tried planting them many times but none survived.

Do plants grow when you plant them? Do you like one particular plant?

Bougainvilleas are perfect bonsai's too. They last for centuries that their branches would arch and make many lovely designs depending on where they grow. My brother lives hunting century old bougainvilleas in La Union and he made them into bonsai. He was even able to sell them online during the pandemic. Helped him earn a living. He even had a celebrity bought some of his bonsai and other plants like his variegated rubber trees.
He put together four different bougainvilleas in one so when they bloom, wow! Very beautiful because of its four different shades.

Bougainvilleas love our weather so much and they bloom all year round.

Sad to hear about your husband's plant that it died and withered when his sister left. Maybe she was the care taker of the plant and when she left part of the plant missed her so that it died. Well plants do have feelings too, I guess. Hahaha.
