My Last Hive Engine Goal is But a Click Away

It looks like I am a click away from achieving the last of my HIVE-Engine goals. I have 9,986 POB in my account. With just 14 more POB I will cross the elusive 10,000 mark.

If POB started paying the POB rewards again; My account would just sail across the goal in the next few days.

That idea is silly. I am depending on the central group that controls POB to get their act together. I might just buy the coins after publishing this post.

Anyway, I've pretty much achieved all my other #HIVE-Engine goals. I have 20k CENT, my goal was 10K. I have 2.7k PIZZA. My goal was 500. I have 2000 ALIVE and over 100,000 PEPE. I have 30K STEM, 75K CCC and 60K FOODIE in dedicated curation accounts.

I thought about accumulating 1000 LEO. Since I am not actively engaged in Leo Threads, I decided to pare down that goal.

It is strange, but every time I start writing a post on HIVE, the post devolves into a rant about the 20% interest on HBD.

I admit, I believed in the #proofofbrain concept. The idea is that people could earn reward points by engaging one's mind through writing or curating posts.

It is a beautiful idea.

The POB ideal is that one could earn rewards by actively engaging the mind. It is embodiment of the ideal of active income.

The 20% interest on HBD is the opposite. HBD is the ideal that rich people can become powerful through passive income.

Every time that I think about POB. I start thinking about how much I truly despise the 20% interest on HBD.

What happened is that when we raised the interest on HBD to 20%, people started pulling their money out of Hive-Engine. This accelerated the decline of the tribal coins.

This table shows my POB investments through the months. My 1000 POB was worth $178 when we raised the interest on HBD. There was a sharp decline in price followed by a steady decline in price.

I really feel for the people who had more money invested in Hive Engine.

Tribal coins are really silly. The value of the coins come from the interest on the coins. People buy POB hoping that the interest they receive on the coins will be greater that the drop in the price caused by the interest.

The tribal coins were marginal at best.

It is possible the the price of the coins have fallen to the point that they are a viable POB style investment.

I suspect that they will all fall further.

HBD offers fixed interest on a stable coin. It is a loan against the value of the coins in the HIVE-O-Sphere.

It is easy to prove that the interest on HBD accelerated the collapse of the HE coins. One need simply to look at the transactions of the swap accounts.

I hope that, someday, the witnesses will realize that they made a huge mistake in paying interest on HBD.

But that will never happen.

The HBD interest pretty much killed killed the potential of HIVE.

The 20% on HBD turned the HE coins into empty bags.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. The tribal coins were marginal at best. The value of the coins comes from the interest on the coins.

Attempts to create passive income destroys the ability to make active income on the platform.

Anyway, I will soon cross the 10K goal. After achieving the goal, I will likely set my sights on accumulating 20K POB.

I wonder how much I will be holding when Hive-Engine follows Steem Engine and the platform simply devolves into a distant nightmare.

It is strange but on achieving the last of my HIVE goals, I simply feel empty. One would think that I would be thrilled that I just achieve the goal of accumulating 10K POB. But, lets face it. 10K POB is just $20.

California will set the minimum wage for fast food restaurants to $20 on April 1.

My silly little goal is worth one hour of flipping burgers at a hotdog stand in Fesno.
