How Low Can You Go For Money?

I feel dirty right now and no, it's not that kind of dirty you're thinking of (get your mind out the gutter). This has something to do with standards and conscience. There is honour in honest work and I have always made sure to indulge in only legal activities because that's as much as my conscience can carry.

There's a freelance work I'm currently doing and I find it very funny that I'm engaged in something like this. It's honest work because it's legal (well, I hope lol) but then it's kind of dishonest. You know those reviews/comments you see on some sites that look spammy? Yeah, I've been doing that for these people.

Firstly, the pay is shit, like absolute shit. Ordinarily, I wouldn't take something like this because I'm a spoilt hiver. I earn way more on hive than what these people are giving me, but I chose to do it anyway. Why? I see it as a means to an end and I don't mind the little sacrifice.

It might or might not get me what I want eventually but there is satisfaction in knowing I tried. The experience however, has me conflicted in my thoughts. Is what I'm doing wrong?

I check out reviews a lot and I can tell the honest ones from the spammy ones. I rely on them whenever I'm making purchases and it's always funny to see these generic comments.

My personal comments for these people are kind of detailed and far from generic. It's more like an honest opinion in 50 different tones. So, it's not like they're harmful or misleading, it's just too many good comments from the same person.

That's why I feel like satan is looking at me flirtatiously right now. If it feels like a bad thing then it probably is a bad thing? But it's for a legit company and no one's getting bruised by this activity, it's all about website traffic here.

Another thing is I feel like a total fool when I remember that I used to be in the comment section of this site some years ago. I'd actually reply comments not knowing I was talking to bots. Now I'm one of the bots, a very chatty one though.

It's all part of a marketing strategy that might look shitty to me, but it's what works for them I guess. I wonder how many more organizations go this route. Maybe truly, some businesses can't function without a little deceit and white lies.

I really don't have to do this but like I said, I'm looking at the bigger picture and there's hope that I would get what I want out of this (or not).

This is the lowest I've gone for pay ever, let's see how long I can keep up with renting my soul to these people.

Do you think I'm overreacting or do I have a steamy spot in hell already? Tell me, how low can you go for money or, for a means to an end just like me?

I totally relate
Think I have done something similar before ....

Since then I can totally differentiate between spammed reviews and real ones

I think you just got yourself a good post on Leofinance and that's great, you'll make more money from a shitty situation that gets you shitty money, apply this pay with that one and you'll get something a little tangible to live by.

I can't say comforting words because you're actually doing something wrong (you think)..and it might go against all your principles. But then you're putting in the hours, working hard and getting paid..common that's honest enough...

Just follow your mind, if it becomes so unbearable, then stop..if not... we'll do anything for money..not everything..

So how about a thief that works hard, is that honest enough? 🤔 hehe

My mind says follow through till I get what I want.

You definitely have a hot one if not steamy. This is actually common practice amongst the biggest corporations and companies in the world. The chances that they are being honest with you on any matter is slim to none

I don’t joke with the way I feel about things and if my mind is not going with it I will just stop. Sometimes we make best decisions out our feelings

People usually advise the use of logic rather than feelings. Today I'm getting the opposite. Lol. Okay, thank you.

Someone here has probably already made thousands of bot accounts to do the same thing with those generic messages lol don't feel bad about it. I worked for a company that basically had a big contest with cash prizes for verified referrals of social media page likes. Every business has to start somewhere 😆Business is all about numbers which is why Splinterlands devs don't bat an eye about the bots pumping up their numbers. You should use it as a learning experience to build your own brand. Which is what I think this post is about really so great post and good job!

My mind was never in the gutter, @wolfofnostreet 😜
Very well, at times we tend to go for something that is less normal to what we stand for. Well, we say as long as its not evil...up to the point that satan wont look at us flirtatiously 😂.
But looking at the positive side, now you could differentiate between spams and otherwise, maybe someday you coukd have a startup hat needs such ability..

Well, luckily for me, I don't believe in hell. If you believe in it though... it might get a bit hot.
