VYB Announcement: @x-1pob-1vyb is out of VYB || Claim ratio is now 2 POB / 1 VYB

As described in the initial VYB white paper, 1,000,000 VYB were set aside to potentially be claimed using POB, with a variable claim rate. In particular, the 1,000,000 VYB were set aside as follows:

  • First 150,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 4 VYB for every 1 POB
  • Next 99,999 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 3 VYB for every 1 POB
  • Next 100,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 2 VYB for every 1 POB
  • Next 300,001 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 1 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 2 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 3 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 5 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 8 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 12 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 17 POB
  • Next 50,000 VYB, exchangeable for POB at the rate of 1 VYB for every 23 POB

The VYB were claimable from the following accounts, with the currently-remaining amount of VYB (as of the writing of this post) shown in parantheses:

@onealfa claimed the last of the VYB tokens from the @x-1pob-1vyb account (1 POB / 1 VYB) yesterday and @trostparadox has claimed the first 10,000 VYB from the @x-2pob-1vyb account (2 POB / 1 VYB). As such, as of the writing of this post, a total of 440,834 POB have been exchanged for 660,000 VYB using the POB-for-VYB claim procedure. That leaves 40,000 VYB claimable at the 2 POB / 1 VYB rate.

So, if you want to claim VYB at the 2 POB / 1 VYB rate, you can send POB (minimum 100 POB per transaction) to @x-2pob-1vyb and the appropriate amount of VYB will be sent back to you within 24 hours (as long as an adequate amount of VYB tokens remain in that account). (NOTE: the ‘market’ memo feature will no longer be utilized for any of the above accounts. If a given account is out of VYB, then any POB tokens sent to that account will simply be returned to the sender.)

Of course, as always, VYB can also be purchased on the open market using SWAP.HIVE.

I was still staking POB when receiving them, this makes me wonder, if VYB is to complement POB (I read you mention that in a comment recently) why would you swap them to VYB? Just curious as I try to understand the reason :)

Well i can think of two reasons -
1.) May be because it's value is more deflationary, as it uses certain measures to discourage unstaking and hence selling.

2.) Since people already have POB and VYB is a recent launch. People also want to hold and grow a stake of VYB.

But there can also be others.

Could be valid these points you make, not judging btw, just curious and trying to understand it :)

Because vyb has no downvoting and some of us are being hounded off the other platforms, invluding pob, by pro covidhoax whales silencing any non government approved info!

if VYB is to complement POB (I read you mention that in a comment recently) why would you swap them to VYB?

The airdrop was designed to complement POB by getting lots of VYB into the hands of accountholders who had already demonstrated a commitment to POB.

The claim procedure was also designed to complement POB, but in a slightly different way. First and foremost, whereas the airdropped VYB were delivered staked (and thus not immediately exchangeable), the claim procedure was the only way an accountholder could initially invest in VYB (at least to any significant degree), and the only way to do that was with POB. The intention there was to push early would-be investors to purchase POB on the open market, then exchange those POB for VYB. As such, a strong demand for VYB would spill over into a sizable demand for POB. Surprisingly (to me, anyways), very few accountholders chose to go that route. The vast majority of the early 'investors' in VYB chose to use their existing POB or their incoming POB rewards.

Also, having the claim procedure in place creates a floor for the price of POB. Up until 2 days ago, there was no reason the price of POB (on the open market) should have ever been below the price of VYB (on the open market) because arbitrageurs could simply purchase POB on the open market, exchange the POB for VYB at 1:1, then sell the VYB on the open market (at the higher price).

Quite honestly, I did not expect the VYB tokens at the 1:1 claim rate to be claimed as quickly as they were. We have @onealfa mostly to thank for that. He claimed over 200,000 of those 300,000 VYB.

Also, fwiw, it has always been unclear to me under what circumstances the market price of VYB would rise significantly above the market price of POB (they share the same tokenomics and overlap in almost every conceivable way -- even the VYB Anti-Abuse Team is actively combatting abuse on behalf of both tribes and the VYB Curation Project has a sizable VYB and POB curation trail). The additional claim rates beyond 1:1 were included on the chance that individuals might (at some point in the future) come to value VYB more than POB. However, that was never the expectation -- merely included as a possibility. Part of the rationale there was to [1] keep a sizable amount of VYB 'locked away' for quite some time, so that VYB holders' relative voting power would be higher and [2] to allow for the possibility of one or more VYB liquidity pools in the future.

I have claimed the first 10,000 2-POB-for-1-VYB tokens in order to clearly demonstrate my bullishness on VYB. This does not, however, indicate any bearishness on my part with respect to POB.

I see VYB price at least 5x of POB in 2023.
I might be wrong, not a financial advice. DYOR

Wow this looks really impressive development. Lot of confidence is being placed in #vyb token. Happy to see this swap when market prices are almost the same

Good afternoon. Unfortunately, I don't see a link to the Discord for technical questions, and I have to go off topic, sorry. The second day curatorial and author's rewards do not get into the wallet, the last mention of them in the wallet is "the day before yesterday", is this a global problem, or have I violated some rules?

Sorry. I do not understand your question.

Can you provide some links or screen shots showing the problem?

I just checked and saw that the coins were in my wallet 5 hours ago, but before that, there was a delay of 5 days. Thanks! Here is a screenshot 1sa.png

The voting window was changed about a week ago, from 4 days to 8 days. That is probably the reason for the delay. For some reason, the front-end was not displaying rewards correctly after the change, but I believe that has been corrected.

Thank you. It's not a problem, it's just that I didn't see any discussion of it and decided it was my personal oversight). Have a great day!

At one point you asked me to DM you. Yet you did not specify which platform, channel, etc. I am writing a reply here to your comment so you can let me know if you are still wanting me to do that. After funeral and such things are starting to stabilize in my house.

I was just reaching out to see if there was any way I might be able to help with respect to your father-in-law's illness. I am sorry for your loss.

In the future, feel free to reach out to me any time via Direct Message on discord -- trostparadox#8559.

You can delegate VYB to whomever you want (i.e. any valid Hive account), same as HP (HIVE Power) or any other delegatable Layer 2 token.

Due to VYB's logo being under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 license and the 5% or more rule referencing someone else's art or work when minting an NFT on proofofbrain.io I need to ask your permission to mint this design I made as a Limited Reproduction Rights NFT. Can I get my use of the VYB logo approved by you please? Thanks.
