YouTube hat wieder zugeschlagen und 3 Bitcoin Channels aus heiterem Himmel gelöscht. Betroffen waren diesmal der Orange Pill Channel von Max Kaiser & Stacy Herbert, Crypto News Alerts und Plamen Andonov, der Organisator einer Bitcoin Konferenz in Bulgarien.
Plamen hat auf Twitter eine emotionale Stellungnahme verfasst und sich beklagt, dass YouTube 3 Jahre harte Arbeit zunichte gemacht hat.
Besonders skurril ist, dass das YouTube Social Media Team eine Woche später auf Twitter behauptet hat, der Kanal sei wegen "harmful or dangerous content" permanent gelöscht worden.
Aber einige Minuten später wurde der Account offenbar wiederhergestellt. Auch die anderen betroffenen Channels sind wieder online.
Jedenfalls zeigt das das Zensur-Risiko von Web 2.0 Plattformen. Diese können jederzeit den Kanal sperren, demonetarisieren, den Username/Handle stehlen oder Beiträge shadow-bannen, ohne dass es die Benutzer merken.
Dezentrale Alternativen wie hive/3speak sind wichtiger denn je.

YouTube has struck again and purged 3 Bitcoin channels out of the blue. This time, the Orange Pill Channel by Max Kaiser & Stacy Herbert, Crypto News Alerts and Plamen Andonov, the organizer of a Bulgarian Bitcoin conference, were affected.
Plamen wrote an emotional statement on Twitter, complaining that YouTube has undone 3 years of hard work.
What's particularly bizarre is that a week later, the YouTube social media team claimed on Twitter that the channel had been permanently deleted for "harmful or dangerous content".
But a few minutes later, the account was apparently restored. The other affected channels are also back online.
Anyway, this shows the censorship risk of Web 2.0 platforms. They can block the channel, demonetize it, steal the username/handle or shadow-ban posts at any time without users noticing.
Decentralized alternatives like hive/3speak are more important than ever.

wieviel Devs hat Hive denn gerade? also bei @ecency wird fleißig entwickelt. Da gibt es fast jeden Monat updates.
Keine Ahnung. Laut @vikisecrets, der Nostr getestet hat, war es am Anfang grottenschlecht und hat sich aber rasch verbessert. Bei Hive schaut hive.blog noch immer so aus wie vor 6 Jahren. Zum Glück gibt´s die anderen Frontends, aber die haben im Gegensatz zu hive.blog Hive nicht im Namen, was für User verwirrend ist.
Wundere mich auch, warum die Hive Frontends trotz teilweiser beachtlicher Hive DAO Finanzierung gefühlt nicht mehr weiterentwickelt werden. Andererseits ist peakd schon ziemlich gut, aber wundere mich, warum man zum Beispiele keine Polls auf Hive machen kann, oder es immer noch keine Einbettung von Hive Posts in andere Webseiten gibt, so wie das alle sozialen Netzwerke unterstützen.

That is ridiculous, the censorship is out of control. When they can arbitrarily delete any account at any time for any reason something is "rotten in Denmark". I agree the decentralized platforms are more important that ever. The funny part is they restored the accounts after saying they were harmful and dangerous. Makes no sense....
It is the regulation that censors, YouTube is just a company that is afraid of being penalized.
It's a constant factor and I think the web2 platforms are still the best place to reach people but it's heavily centralized.

LOL, so much to freedom of speech huh?
... heutzutage wird sowieso überall auf verschiedenen art zensiert. Sei es bei den großen Plattformen die gezielt mehr oder gar nichts zu einem Thema zeigen, oder auch bei unseren Medien im kleinen Österreich die gezielt über Sachen ausgiebig oder gar nicht berichten. Meiner Meinung nach alles eine Art Zensur.
Sehe ich auch so, Freedom of Speech ist eine der größten Herausforderung im Internet, eine Freiheit, die man immer verteidigen muss.

It is the problem of developing your business on someone else's land. It always ends badly.
Maybe that will be the trigger for BTC maxis to build their own decentralized video sharing platform, or people will just continue to complain about GAFAM controlling internet.
I feel that they are recriminating a lot the channels dedicated to BTC, possibly for some who have done scams or this type of fraudulent business now they are putting everyone else in the same circle.
