Super woke Google geo-blocked the waitlist for Google Bard 🙈 Bard is only available in the US and UK for now while the waitlist of Bing was global from the beginning.

Google hat die Warteliste für Google Bard geo-geblockt 🙈 d.h. Bard is im Moment nur in den USA und in UK verfügbar, während die Warteliste von Bing von Anfang an global war.

Auf der Warteliste-Seite, die in Europa nicht funktioniert, wirbt Google damit, dass Bard erklären kann, warum große Sprachmodelle-Fehler machen.

In den FAQ steht aber wiederum dass Bard häufig halluziniert und sich oft darin irrt, wie es intern funktioniert 😂

Ok, die Werbung entspricht also nicht den Tatsachen.

Weiters weist Google darauf hin, dass Bard nicht programmieren kann.

Überhaupt kommt mir vor, dass Google nicht ihr bestes Sprachmodell veröffentlichet haben und die KI-Entwicklung irgendwie absichtlich zurückhalten bzw. stark zensurieren. Das macht Microsoft und OpenAI auch, aber sie vermarkten es besser als Responsible AI, aligned ("ausgerichtet"), etc. statt zensurieren zu sagen.

Insgesamt würde ich 1:0 für Bing geben.

Google has geo-blocked the waiting list for Google Bard 🙈 i.e. Bard is currently only available in the US and UK, while Bing's waiting list was global from the start.

On the waitlist page, which doesn't work in Europe, Google advertises that Bard can explain why large language models make mistakes.

But in the FAQ it again says that Bard often hallucinates and is often wrong about how it works internally 😂

One example is that Bard often misrepresents how it works.

Ok, so the advertisement does not correspond to the facts.

Furthermore Google points out that Bard cannot write code.

In general, it seems to me that Google have not released their best language model and are somehow deliberately holding back or heavily censoring AI development. Microsoft and OpenAI do that too, but they market it better as Responsible AI, aligned instead of saying censored.

Overall, I'd give it 1-0 for Bing.
