Nifty Friday: NFTs on Fire 🔥 by @astrocreator (Facebook shutting down NFT support, why? 🙈)
Facebook hat vor Kurzem den NFT Support auf Facebook und Instagram heruntergefahren. Davor war es möglich, Ethereum und Polygon NFTs mit Facebook zu verknüpfen und die eigene NFT-Kollektion auf Instagram zu featuren.
Eigentlich schade, da es ein cooles Feature war, allerdings war es nur für Kunden aus den USA zugänglich und es wurden leider nicht alle NFT-Plattformen unterstützt. Stellt euch vor man hätte auch Splinterlands oder NFT Showroom NFTs verlinken können.
Denke, dass das Herunterfahren der NFT-Funktionalität mehr dem gescheiterten Versuch eine Metaverse/VR-App zu entwickeln, geschuldet ist.
Was meint ihr? Warum entfernt Facebook NFTs wieder, kurzsichtiger Schritt?

Facebook recently shut down NFT support on Facebook and Instagram. Prior to this, it was possible to link Ethereum and Polygon NFTs to Facebook and to feature your own NFT collection on fb/instagram.
It was a shame really, as it was a cool feature, however it was only available to customers from the US and unfortunately not all NFT platforms were supported. Imagine one could have linked Splinterlands or NFT Showroom NFTs as well.
Think the shutdown of NFT functionality is more due to the failed attempt to develop a Metaverse / VR app.
What do you guys think? Why is Facebook removing NFTs again, short-sighted move?

A company like Facebook Shouldn't have done that. I don't know the exact reason, But maybe they are afread of this new technology.
I didn't have heard about Facebook before your post but I knew that Google has also shut down NFT support, and now as you are telling Facebook has done it too. As we know, even today, cryptocurrency is not fully regulated in many countries of the world and some countries have even declared it illegal. In the same way, support of NFT is shutting down. But this will not benefit these people because neither in this way they will be able to stop the development of the crypto nor will they be able to do anything with NFT.
Very short-sighted sadly. But with they are all about they money and since it wasn't producing they cut it. From a business standpoint it could make sense but in the long-term they are losing out on an industry that will be booming again in the next couple years. Thanks for the great post!

Well, I know it would hamper a lot of people who have been using it and those who intended using it would be disappointed. I think they will bring it back again.
Yes, the metavers/VR could have a hand on why they chose to do so.
Very short-sighted move! Especially since Facebook is such a huge company, with almost endless influence in trend-setting. Gah!

Facebook must not complicate life and must do what it has done from the beginning. Buy the NFT platform that stands out the most and integrate it.
I think facebook dont like any competition. So if they cant have it, not give to anyone else !

I don't know why Facebook makes this decision but I think their approach to the metaverse was wrong.
I think Facebook is just doing that to be safe. Crypto and NFTs are still a way they can earn but I think they cut it off because the government has been hitting crypto organizations. Rather than take the risk, they would rather shut it down and start it back up later if its safe.
