Einladung zum nächsten Wiener Hive Stammtisch am Donnerstag 2. November 2023 19:00 @ Tesla Coffee & Concept (Nähe Westbahnhof).

Wir treffen uns diesmal nach / während den Feiertagen am Donnerstag (2. November) in der Tesla Coffee & Concept Bar. Wollte es ursprünglich im News Café machen, aber das hat "vorübergehend geschlossen".

Die Tesla Bar befindet sich in der Nähe vom Westbahnhof auf der Äußeren Mariahilfer Str. 147 und ist öffentlich in circa 5 Gehminuten von der U3 / U6 Station Westbahnhof erreichbar.

Neben den üblichen Getränken gibt es in der Tesla Bar auch Süßes (und Saures) und auch kleine Snacks wie leckere Bruschetta und Focaccia.

Bitte gebt mir Bescheid, ob ihr vorbeikommt, damit ich weiß, für wie viele Leute ich reservieren soll.

Kommt pünktlich, werde um 19h auf euch warten.

Das Thema des nächsten Meetups lautet: Splinterlands Rebellion Launch: Risiken & Chancen. Bei Splinterlands gab es vor Kurzem eine große Umstrukturierungs- und Entlassungswelle und es ist kein Geheimnis, dass auch Splinterlands so wie alle NFT-basierten Kryptogames besonders unter dem Bärenmarkt leidet. Trotzdem ist Splinterlands immer noch in den Top 10 der meist genutzten DApps. Wie seht ihr die Umstrukturierung und den Launch des neuen Kartensets Rebellion? Was sind die Risiken und Chancen?

Invitation to the next Vienna Hive Stammtisch on Thursday November 2, 2023 19:00 @ Tesla Coffee & Concept (near Westbahnhof).

We'll meet this time after / during the holidays on Thursday (November 2) at Tesla Coffee & Concept Bar. Was originally planning to go to News Café, but that is "temporarily closed".

The Tesla Bar is located near the Westbahnhof on Äußere Mariahilfer Str. 147 and is publicly accessible in about 5 minutes walk from the U3 / U6 station Westbahnhof.

Besides the usual drinks, Tesla Bar also serves sweets (and sours) and also small snacks like delicious bruschetta and focaccia.

Please let me know if you're coming by so I know how many people to make reservations for.

Come on time, will be waiting for you at 7 pm.

Werde schauen, dass sich bei mir zeitlich ausgeht. Thema ist spannend auch wenn ich selbst keine NIFT Spiele aktiv spiele. Überlegenswert wäre auch mal das mit der "Meet Up" Gruppe zu überlegen, denn ich glaube es macht Sinn einfach mehr Kryptofreaks anzusprechen, zu wachsen, um uns dann auch zu vernetzen. ;-)

I think that is an interesting topic to talk about. Rebellion seems a bit too early for me but it does make me wonder about the long-term future of splinterlands if they are worried about their cash burn.

I think Rebellion is still a good thing for SPl even with moderate packs buying.
Mobile game without a deep and narrative gameplay need to artificially maintain hype and user engagement with new stuff coming out regularly.
In narrative games, the story maintains players in a cliff hanger situation keeping them engaged until the end. In mobile and especially PvP games, there is nothing like that and the game can rapidly feel empty or boring.
The big problem of SPL imo is the lack of new features and variations. Also the PvP system with rating system that reset every 2 weeks completely annihilate the feeling of progression that keep players engaged.

The rating reset is really annoying, maybe let the player keep roughly the same spot if they don't play, or let the player choose their league where to start from.

Well, for me the problem is that the only available gameplay is the PvP mode.
Unless they reinvent PvP competition, there is nothing to be done about the reset. We need to be on an "equal footing" to be able to compete against each other. But at the same time the reset negate the feeling of accomplishment and progression and the game turns to basic grinding.

I think they SPL need a story mode and PvE, where there are always new things to discover, where we can look back and see how we progressed in the game.

But at the moment they prefer asking the DAO for 60K USD for social network management rather than to hire additional developers...
